Finally got out to test my 2 used AIM NIB BCGs and they both functioned flawlessly with Wolf Gold and some old Centurion M193. Also got to shoot the 7.62 x 39 AR I put together with mostly AIM purchased parts (Anderson lower, Spike's upper, AIM BCG, Anderson lower kit, Troy 13" handguard, Magpul SRT stock). I was getting failure to fires on 1 of 10 rounds so I put an enhanced firing pin in as I did on my 5.45 and it has functioned flawlessly since then. Except for the ASC government approved (10 round) mags I got locally. Buy the C-Products 10 or 30 from AIM they have been perfect. View Quote Sweet! Been thinking for a long time of building one, had an old Colt match target in x39 years ago, great little rifle, tons of fun, and always ran flawlessly. Pics? |

Re-posting this here, just posted it on the Spike's industry forum, but also has to do with AIM, this kind of customer service is why I buy Spike's products and why I buy them from AIM:
I got a parts kit a while back when I bought a Spike's upper from AIM, it sat in the parts box for a few months and just recently got another Spike's lower so I pulled it out to build, and noticed that it was missing the front takedown pin, this is the first out of a dozen or more parts kits that was missing something, if anything they usually have extras, every one i've gotten had an extra takedown pin detent and spring, something that really saved my butt the first couple times I built a lower So I contacted Josh (DaddyFungus) at AIM, and he took good care of me, he contacted Spike's for me since they didn't have an extra laying around, and Spike's sent me out a new one, AND a rear takedown as well, AND a trio of cool Spike's stickers including a Calico Jack sticker which Mrs. Dragynn promptly seized and is now being installed on her laptop She has the Calico Jack lower so I guess it's only fair, lol. And the really cool thing is, the parts kit was free with the purchase of the upper as AIM was running a special at the time, I offered to pay for the pin as I felt it was a little chickenshit of me to ask for a pin when I didn't have to pay for the kit to start with, but Josh wouldn't hear of it and Spike's didn't charge me either. Awesome customer service as always, and that in addition to the solid quality is why all our AR's are Spike's Tactical and will continue to be. Thanks big time guys! |

Quick question. Took the two used NiB bcgs out. One runs like a chimp, the other has ftf and fte on every round. I've got it narrowed down to the carrier I think.
The bolt that came in the screwy one does fine in other carriers. No, I'm not sending it back, it was used and a craps shoot and the bolt was worth the cost anyway. Any suggestions on trouble shootIng the bcg? |

I've got a similar upper, Spike's BAR rail middy but with no front sight, added some cheapie BUIS and a scope. Lower is a Spike's spartan with Spike's grip, billet mag button, KNS pins, and Magpul fixed rifle stock. The triggerguard is the last piece, though i'm thinking of picking up a grip pod or cheap bipod. 184 ownage. |
