The B.E. Meyers MAWL-C1+ represents a true paradigm shift in laser system design. It is a full featured infrared and visible green aiming and illumination laser for individual carbines. Offering improved ergonomics, interface, and performance, the MAWL was designed from the ground up around the evolved needs of the warfighter. The original MAWL-DA is a ground-breaking laser system. Now, it is being made available for individual purchase in the form of the MAWL-C1+. The MAWL-C1+ breaks as much ground in performance as the physical form does in function. Class 1+ is a new category in eye-safe laser capability. Standard Class 1 invented the eye-safe IR laser category. Class 1+ perfects it. B.E. Meyers' engineers have developed a laser system that seriously outperforms competitive units while still abiding by FDA variance. The MAWL-C1+ addresses the use of space and ergonomic shortcomings of lasers on short carbines like the SOCOM Mk18, it mounts offset from the rail to minimize impact on hand position and optic field of view. This revolutionary design leaves the shooter completely unimpeded by mounting mission essential accessories. The offset placement of the laser body allows the onboard fire buttons to be located directly over the rail clamp. This lower profile creates much easier access to the controls, allowing the operator to keep their same firing grip while actuating the laser. Regardless, the MAWL-C1+ is completely ambidextrous. This is achieved through a never-before-seen modular design that allows the head and tail to separate from the body, trade places, and be reassembled on the opposite side. Controls are incredibly intuitive. Output modes are switched by rotating the front bezel to expose the appropriate emitter. OFF = all emitters covered. VIS = Only Visible Green emitter exposed. IR = Only IR Laser Pointer and IR Laser Illuminator emitters exposed. Onboard controls include two “fire” buttons. The forward button is “IMMEDIATE,” while the rear button is “ADMIN.” The Immediate Action button controls the 90% use case outputs per mode. The Admin button activates the other, less critical tertiary functions per mode. The beams are pre focused tooptimal FOV and power at various power outputs. Output power control is accomplished with a top-mounted tactile sliding switch. The switch output mode is easy to determine through feel and has three positions. This means there is no fumbling through complex dial adjustments around the clock in the dark. Everything is rapid and effortless! Modes are as follows: SHORT RANGE IR Optimized for room engagements and building interiors, Short Range mode offers smooth, room-filling illumination with no discernible speckling or edges and no excessive bloom. The admin function activates a low energy IR Illuminator with no pointer for navigating extremely dark areas without discharging an extra IR light. The IR aiming laser stays at 0.7mW so to not bloom out targets. MID RANGE IR Mid-Range mode excels at urban building movement and is appropriate for alleyways, streets, building exteriors, and rooftops. Mid-Range offers dual illuminator and a pointer; a mid-range wide angle flood with a tight hot spot for punching out further distances. Admin function redistributes the illuminator outputs to optimize longer range illumination without switching into Long Range mode. LONG RANGE IR Long Range mode essentially mimics the performance of the Mid Range mode in the C1+ model.SHORT & MID RANGE GREEN VISIBLE Short Range Visible allows the user to fire a smooth green laser beam at either 1 or 5mW. Mid Range is 5mW with both fire buttons. LONG RANGE GREEN VISIBLE Long Range in visible mode offers a steady 5mW or 6Hz Pulse at 5mW depending on the fire button that is used. The MAWL-C1+ is unlike any other laser product on the market. Its intuitive, ease of use layout makes it one of the most user friendly lasers available to the law enforcement professional or civilian user. Yes, it's expensive. But, the MAWL-C1+ is in a class of its own. Nothing else compares. Available Now! https://tnvc.com/shop/b-e-meyers-mawl-c1-ir-visible-laser/ |

So my atpial isn't even here yet, and now I have to start saving for one of these.
I hate you guys. |

Nice work keeping this secret. I don't think anyone was expecting this to drop for a long year plus.
Unfortunately, that price tags means I'll never even see one in person. |

Yeah, that price point is ludicrous. You can find full power PEQ15s for that price. I thought the civi PEQ was expensive enough but this thing is double that cost. I just don't see a civi laser demanding that price. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I spent $1800 on my first NOD and $2000 on the 2nd. I just can't figure out how I would justify $2500 on a laser device that costs MORE than a bootleg full power ATPIAL. Someone on the EE was selling a full power PEQ-15 over the weekend for $2K. This is the 2nd one I've seen listed in 5 days. Might be the same guy. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_7_148/1638570_Atpial-Black-PEQ-15.html |

Too pricey for me but at least this is innovative compared to the peq15 and DBAL units which are simply incremental SWAP improvements over the peq2.

A restricted PEQ-15 also does not have an onboard visible green laser that shines in a bright sunny day at 100 yards! The IR LUM for this C1+ also has an effective range of 500+ with the cleanest beam you will ever see. We've been testing this new system for the last 2 months, and IT ROCKS!! **This new offering does qualify for our TNVC financing.** |

Finally something both C1 and worth dropping serious coin on.
Everyone who disagrees, go be poor somewhere else. |

Here's what Matt Meyers has said about the units...
Class 1 Plus™ = Irradiance on Target The power balance of infrared illumination and pointing irradiance at different ranges becomes critical as commercial night vision quality continually increases, which is why MAWL-C1+ brings settings specific for close range to long range target engagement. By utilizing a uniquely arrayed laser core, the MAWL-C1+ is able to incorporate a laser illuminator capable of outperforming other civilian legal laser systems on the market, and also outperforms many restricted devices. This provides the user with a distinctive and functional near infrared illuminator with unrivaled irradiance on target, allowing for positive identification of objects, the ability to surpass many photonic barriers, as well as faster target acquisition either on the range or in the field. On top of this, the visible green laser pointer in the MAWL-C1+ has selectable low-power settings for close range boresight precision that is also slaved to the near infrared pointers. Once the user has zeroed the visible green laser, the infrared lasers are also automatically zeroed, getting you into the field faster at night. By featuring centralized, co-aligned emitters, the MAWL ensures that all beams are simultaneously on target, regardless of distance. Class 1 Plus™ = Beam Clarity Our beam is our brand, and the incredibly smooth illumination quality of the MAWL-C1+ is the same as in the standard MAWL-DA, eliminating the distracting artifacts (a.k.a. greasy fingerprint spots) that many civilian and restricted laser devices possess. Not only does this clean energy performance improve your illumination of the target area, it makes low Figure-of-Merit (FOM) night vision devices look better by providing increased ambient and directional near infrared illumination. Use What You Already Own The MAWL is designed to be the best laser on the market, and works with and compliments a variety of other high-end systems. The MAWL-C1+ is designed to work with all MIL-STD/NSWC Crane Laser Lead remotes, which include the Unity Tactical/TNVC TAPS™ and TAPS Pro™ series remote cables, the SureFire SR07-D-IT, as well as L3 and Steiner remote activation cables. In addition to this, the MAWL series are designed to work in parallel with the SureFire M300 Mini-Scout Light® to maximize rail space efficiency. |

Very cool looking and glad to see it has been released.
But like other im not seeing what justifies the price. According to the stats listed on TNVC The ATPIAL-C and DBAL-A3 are lighter, small, cheaper and offer the same power level of lasers. Guess where it excels is all of the different options for short, medium and long range use. |

C1 illuminators are junk. No offense to anyone that likes them. Compared to full power units they just don't have what it takes. You can tell by the pics (and pixels) and specs that this is gonna be a different animal. |

Could you define "Class 1+"?
What wavelength and at what power? |

make a video comparing the mawl's illuminator to that of a 45mw peq15s, and of a class I 9007 dbal or a3.

I thought they would put out a civi from your first description I also like the pricing even though this puts it out of my price range. If they can bank off this more will move into the segment. Everyone wins. Thanks for all the info tnvc.

I'm glad to see them go after a civilian market so soon after the restricted release, but for that price, I can get NODs for a buddy. Like others, from the descriptions, I'm just not seeing $1800 of added value to a DBAL.

If the illumination is that much better, I probably would have picked up one of these rather than two of something else a month ago.

So, will the MAWL-C1+ works with the TAPS Pro?
It will be interesting how the TAPS Pro programming works with the A / B firing switch. |

It will, but I personally feel too many people are putting too much emphasis on the pro model over the standard. Pro is very cool and offers a lot of options. But most people really only need the standard TAPS model. View Quote Okay, I should say TAPS and TAPS Pro. I am not really interested into programming the switch, I would like to receive the package, with the switch pre-programed, instead of f---ing the program myself, if you know what I mean. At the end of the day, I am more a user than programmer. Please post future updates on how the TAP or TAPS Pro switch will work with the MAWL-C1, thanks. |

i really like the look of this unit, especially the offset mounting setup. the illumination is impressive and a green vs red pointer is nice. if it was lighter than the ATPIAL or A3 it would be perfect. might have to dig in the thermal #2 savings .
