What was even weirder is that when she came out and I introduced myself to her in the dark, I recognized her name and knew her husband.
He was a retinal electrophysiologist that I have worked with in the past a couple of decades ago and went to his funeral five years ago when he passed in his laboratory at work in the hospital from a heart attack. I was so taken back and felt so bad about it. But she said she is engaged to a good friend now that she has known since she was 6 years old and sounded very upbeat, so I was happy to hear that. |

Haha, we ended up getting two more on the way home, it was a great time for all.
That rifle is a Heckler & Kock MR556 with an ACOG TA02LED 4X-32mm with a FLIR T-70 Thermal Weapon Sight and an ATPIAL-C IR Laser/Illuminator. Absolutely love this rifle, so much so I am waiting for my SBR stamp on an identical shorty! |

So you spot with thermal and shoot with NV (sometimes? I know you shoot with thermal too)
The reason I ask is my NV game is solid, but I still struggle finding critters in tall grass. My technique is usually using bright IR illum to see their eyes, but even that is hit or miss. Since we're in the same AO, just wanted to know what you were doing so right so I can follow in your footsteps. |

View Quote Most of the time I am hunting on my property of which I am intimately familiar with and primarily use thermal hand scanners and thermal weapon scopes for 100% of everything. BUT, when I am somewhere else on someone else's property that I am NOT intimately familiar with and need to navigate and traverse unknown terrain, then I use NV to navigate and either IR laser for shooting or thermal scope, and still bring thermal handheld for scanning. You need to get a thermal hand scanner to discover all the game you are missing with only NV, you will detect 10X more game with thermal than you ever could with just NV alone.... |
