I have posted feedback here on the PVS-14. Please feel free to post your feedback here as I always appreciate your comments and so does the "other guy" about to buy. Thanks all!

I have seen pictures of other's PVS-14s and some of them have specs/blemishes everywhere or right in the field of view... Well Victor doesn't sell that garbage, I promise you that ! The image is sharp and beautiful. I don't believe that I would have gotten such a great device if I had went with an online store, I honestly don't. I have been working on getting some pictures up... but alas I have not had the time to snap any good pictures yet because it can be a little difficult to get them perfect when using a digital camera. Plus the fact that I have limited NV experience : / Pics will be added to this post as I get them. 2. I am glad that I opted for the PVS-14 over the MUM because I really do like to variable gain control and I use it very often. To everyone that is new to nightvision, like I am, the variable gain is just what it sounds like... it lets you adjust the brightness of the image ( it comes in real handy when there is a full moon out so you can lower it a bit, or when there is only startlight available or overcast you can crank it up to get more light and see better with what ambient light you have around) The gain option is worth researching if you are going to be buying soon.... because you may end up needing it. 3. If you are thinking of settling for a cheaper NV device or going with a Gen 2 I would suggest that you take this wise advice.... Save your pennies and buy the best you can, don't settle when it comes to these kinds of optics. A fella over in the AR15 > Optics section says that you only cry inside once when you spend this kind of money... well he was half right again when you get the credit card bill in the mail But believe me... it is worth it.
And my most important point.... Victor, one heck of a nice guy !!! I sent him countless IMs and E-mails over the course of about 2.5 weeks and he went above and beyond to help me. He answered all of my questions perfectly and honestly, which had to be hard to do because I had some really nitpicky questions. I believe that he would still be answering my questions to this day because he knows that "he" sells the product, the product does not sell itself. By that I mean that Victor is a great person to deal with and more than patient. He will not do you wrong. He knows that a website such as this can make or break a person's reputation... I believe that he will only excel because he has nothing to lose, yet everything to gain from customers like me that will be with him for life This post sounds like some kind of rehearsed sales pitch, but it truly isn't. Ask anyone who has bought from Vic... they will agree with everything I just typed. Hell, IM or call him and talk to him... you will understand why I wanted to express my thanks in the way that I have. Vic, thanks for everything. I am going to work hard over the next few weeks to get some good pictures... even if I have to spend all night in the freezing cold to do so Kids, buy with confidence

Victor,
I finally got on opportunity to try out the PVS-14 that I purchased from you last weekend in the Mojave Desert. I am quite familiar with the PVS-7Bs that I used while in the Corps, however, I wanted to try something new out for a change and the PVS-14's seemed to be a little more versatile, as I seen in your posts. I drove my jeep out to an area called Cuddeback Dry Lake for some night vision driving. It was not only a moonless night, but a cloud covered one as well. This area is very remote. Needless to say there was not a lot of ambient light to work with. Even with my headlights on, it was close to pitch black. I was unable to see any land features such as ridges or mountain tops. With the PVS-14 on, I could see all of that and was able to drive with the lights off across the lake. Having just one eye covered allowed me much more peripheral vision than with a PVS-7. I'm very pleased with the purchase. |

My time is short and so are my comments. But, when it comes to dealing with Victor D there is not much to say. WHY YOU ASK???
Well, I was fortunate enough to be one of the first people to get a hand-select single battery PVS14 from Vic. It is quite simply the most flawless, high-grade unit I have ever purchased. Yes that's right I have purchased a few units from Vic and you know what? They got better with each one. How? Vic D thats how. I have yet to use this bugger out in the field but you know what else? It doesn't matter. The confidence level I have from dealing with Vic in the past is all I need until I get out for some night navigating. Really folks. It may sound silly, but the single batt PVS14 looked so damn good that I played with it for about an hour, put it away, and went and checked the calendar for the next moonless night. Confidence, quality, service and trust. Tactical Night Vision Company folks. There is nothing more to say. Okay there is one more thing. Thanks Vic for the value you have built into every purchase. And thank you especially for being such an NV resource and spending the time to help me work out all the details and bugs concerning my various purchases. Each of my units has functioned flawlessly and I am extremely happy with each and every one of them. Hats off to you sir and many blessing to TacNight!!! Kind Regards- Freddy Erdman Don't fear the night...OWN IT!!! |

3-21-2007 Initial Feedback for PVS-14SB Gen3 Select Alpha w/ ITT Tube Data Card:
**Until I can field test these, this will be the initial feedback irt' Victor D', TNVC, and first impressions.** So, I decided to buy some Gen3 NV on Saturday, 17 March 2007. And not having touched any NVD's in a couple years (PVS-4/5/7 series & 1st gen PVS-14's in the .mil), I had some questions. So I began by narrowing it down to a M.U.M. or a set of PVS-14's, and then I contacted Victor at TNVC. It took me a day and a half of e-mail/IM's with Victor, but I then got it narrowed down to PVS-14's, and then some more by deciding on Select "A"'s w/ tube data card. With that I then threw him a curve ball by seeing if he could meet some demands. The problem is/was that I live pretty close to Rainier Arms in WA, and John sells PVS-14's too, with the prices being pretty close, but TNVC being the cheaper of the two. So my dilemma was instant gratification by buying local, or saving about $450.00 between the price diff' and having to pay state sales taxes, which is almost a no-brainer. The curve ball was that I told Victor I was willing to wait on shipping, but not that much, and that I needed 2-day shipping if I went with him. Victor didn't bat an eye, said no problem, and went so far as to tell me when exactly he would ship it, and when it would be here. Satisfied, I placed my order with him on Sunday the 18th, Monday I got my tracking number, and today (wedn) it was here by 1100hrs. He was true to his word. My first impressions, product wise, was the box was packed well, and again, on time. (continued below pics') On opening I noticed the Pelican Case (Delta Kit), and borrowing one of Victors pictures, these other items. ![]() And my PVS-14SB/A's Happy with what I saw, I put in a battery, went to the walk in closet and closed myself in, and powered up, w/ IR. Upon focusing I immediately noticed the tube was exactly as Victor described, quality wise, and my first "on" impressions was.... holy $#!t. I am no expert on tube grading, nor claim to be, but my PVS-14SB "A"'s had only one spec blemish on the very edge, at about 5 o'clock. Very nice. That said, and in closing for today and more testing, I am very satisfied thus far. I would guess about 20 e-mail and IM's were exchanged before using the phone, Victor was very prompt in responding, very forthright, and patient. He also lived up to every promise he made. Was also very nice on the phone, again patient, and delivered exactly what he said. So a big A+ thus far.... |

Well, I finally got a chance to get out and test my new hand select alpha tube 14s from Victor and must say that they are outstanding! Thank you Victor! I am in a position where I have had the opportunity to use quite a few different NODs including the AN/PVS-21s, 14s, 7Ds and some others and can say that the 14s I received from Victor are very good. I don't even notice any cosmetic flaws! I am very happy with my purchase and thank you very much for the good service Victor. It has been a pleasure doing business with you and I look forward to doing more!

More feedback on my PVS-14's! Thank you!
Originally Posted By BigW1stCav: Wow. Here is what you're going to do when night vision is so...close.... I was tracking my PVS-14 online this week, and as fate would have it, it wound up on a delivery truck just five miles away in the terminal...doomed for a lonely weekend in a warehouse. So, I drove to town and was happy to see humans working, on a Saturday, at the FedEx terminal. I gave a guy my DL and he went to search the van. I'll skip the part about the basement, other than to say that it just made me more anxious for night to fall. There was only one way to kill this downtime: rangetime! So, I drove over to a friend's house, shot all day, and came home to try out my new toy. There's no doubt about it folks, the head harness supplied with the unit is truly a skull crusher. It has to go (bike helmet project to follow). It will give you a headache and force your face into stroke-like contortions. But...in the hour one has before the cranium collapse, I walked about the woods I live in the midst of. I did learn that by keeping the gain as low as possible, the greater the clarity of the picture, so I'm very glad I got a 14 with adjustable gain. This must be one of the greatest benefits it has over some of the other devices. One of the greatest concerns I had about a monocular was whether or not I would have a tendency to try and close the other eye, or otherwise feel uncomfortable with only one eye "in the know". I did not and, in fact, had to make a conscious effort to realize that I was "using" just one eye. Moreover, I was often closing the 14 eye to get a visual on the reality of the darkness. I can see where this would be a huge factor in a tactical situation; being aware of what the enemy might be seeing, and knowing how exposed or not you are under the circumstances. The focusing ring goes from infinity to arm's length in a very short turning distance. This also seemed a great bonus as I was normally at infinity, but I can see (hahahaha) where going half-way would be the norm while in a room or house, and then just another short turn will allow for map reading and close tasks. Perhaps I'm not explaining this well, but I wasn't consumed with a constant refocusing, which I would have found annoying. The stars: man-oh-man...like being in the middle of the desert at night, right there in my backyard. The moon: what is it right now? Quarter? It's like looking at the sun itself through a 14. The cat: I found it very interesting that my cat was totally freaked out that I could follow her and regardless of how still she was, or how low she hunched, she couldn't lose me. She didn't know what to make of that, and darted away in a quick panic whenever I approached. Nature's advantage taken away. Vic's pick: I haven't used this out of the woods yet, but I honestly can not find one blemish on this tube. I also can't thank him enough for the great patience he displays with all of our questions and the service and quality he provides. I may have agonized for another year over my purchase had I not known with certainty that I'd get the best from Vic. Thanks, dude. If you're thinking about doing it: do it! I had a lot of eye time behind PVS Vs while in the service (yeah...20 years ago). At that time, I was astounded with the image quality and technology. Now, 3rd generation totally sinks those old goggles (not to mention sheds about fifty pounds--talk about a skull crusher). Perhaps the only beef I have with the 14 is the fact that it's going to take a while for my digits to get some muscle memory to adjust the small gain knob, power knob, and focusing rings. Hey, maybe I'm just getting old. Okay, I think it's time to walk out of these woods and take a stroll down the road where I'll have open fields and sky to really give this marvel a go. I hope this has helped somebody out there make a decision or answer a question. [/quote |

The single-battery, Autogated PVS-14 with Hand-Picked G-3 Tube with manual Gain control knob that Victor sold me is top-notch to say the least. The electronics/circuitry and Tube of these units are outstanding with an image that is crisp and clean.
Great customer service and the guy will go the extra mile for you on Quality and with customer satisfaction guaranteed. He does not mind if you Call/e-mail him to ask questions and he will work with you. To let you get comfortable with the particular unit and specifics before you buy. I recommend Victor with confidence and will purchase again from T.N.V.C. . If you love the Night. Then Victor can get the quality Goods. ... . |

First off, I think Victor's customer service is the best I have ever experienced. He spent far more time than I would have expected answering questions, and made sure I was making the most informed decision possible (with my limited experience). His response to my emails were typically within 30 minutes of sending it.
I ended up going with an ITT PVS-14 hand select, and ya know, I can't really seem to find any blatent blemishes. If I focus in on a white wall, I might pick up on an extremely small speck at the edge. But I really have to try to find it. Overall, the tube is incredible, and recommend going with a 3rd Gen if you can afford it. It was money well spent, and I will work with Vic again in the future without a second thought. |

Just received a NEPVS-14 from Victor. It is a hand select, also got da torch, 3X magnifier and delta kit. It's amazing the quality of this tube. Spent 18 months in Iraq, 04 & 05, we didn't have anything near as nice; of course I shouldn't compare the pvs-7 with a 14. The few 14's I managed to get my hands on wasn't as clear as the Night Enforcer.
I would recommend that you’re caught up on sleep when it arrives. I haven't gotten much the last few nights. Who cares when their are things to be seen at night. I live on a small farm and it's amazing the amount of activity that goes on in the night. I couldn’t recommend a more helpful and honest individual as Victor. His products are the best by far and he will help insure you get the proper product for your needs. |

THIS IS WAY OVERDUE!!
Back in July 2008 I bought a PVS-14 from Vic. (You can review my original comments July 17, 2008 above in this thread). Since that time the PVS + Da'Torch Variable has help me bag 6 'yotes without leaving my porch!! (Three in one strafing attack - the third one shouldn't have stopped to look back!) I don't have a digital camera so a friend took these pics a few months ago and FINALLY emailed them to me so I can do "Show and Tell". I apologize in advance for our lack of photographic prowess
Some of My CQB Training Gear (now I can finally do dark entry work)
My Coyote Reduction Setup
PVS-14 Mounted High & Tight
Da'Torch Keeping Point
Thanks Again Vic, for All Your Guidance!! I Couldn't be More Pleased!! Oh...and for the upcoming "Pics of the 'yotes or it didn't happen". Remember, I don't have a digital camera (maybe Santa Clause |

Received my Autogated PVS-14 today via a ultra hot delivery lady from UPS. Not sure if Victor arrainged that or not, but I'll give him credit.
The night vision is amazing. I can't believe I waited this long for NV optic. I have planned for it since I purchased an EOTech 552 w/NV capability over 3 years ago. The tube is near flawless. After looking for over 15 minutes, I thought I saw one minor (and I do mean minor) blemish, but later this evening, I coudn't find it again. Victor you were awesome in helping get through the payment issue, and I appreciate the return phone calls and personal customer service. I shows that you care about your business and your customers. I am glad I supported an ARFCOMer and his business. Thank you again. I will work on photos and possibly a video if I can hook up the HD camera to the unit. Vino |

Vino Thank you much for the kind words, we try to do our best to help any way we can. (RED TEXT ABOVE) |
