Do you have any follow up on this? I also have a 16" Ultramatch .308 barrel and it seems to have an incredibly tight chamber as well.
I've owned the barrel for over a year and haven't shot much because my range outings always end up with me trying to clean blown primers out of the gun or getting frustrated and quitting.
Initially I thought the gun was just overgassed so I bought a Syrac adjustable gas block, which seems to help to a degree, but it is still incredibly difficult to eject a round that has been chambered.
The issue happens with factory ammo in BOTH .308 and 7.62x51 as well as .308 reloads.

I sent the barrel to Rainer, after talking with them they said it was a headspace issue. So I sent them my bolt; they sent me a new barrel. Per our conversations, I am assuming they matched my bolt to a barrel. I took two rounds, M80 ball and handload 178 A-Max at 2.830" COL loaded to mimic M118LR. The M80 chambered fine, the handload wouldn't chamber. This is the same issue I ran into with the first barrel. Both rounds had "witness" marks bullets. It's as if the throats are really short or tight.
I got it installed tonight, it's a perfect profile for a compact precision rifle....
...aside from the issues and the idiotic use of muzzle 3/4-24 threads
; I just want to be done with it. At this point I wish I had just bought a PredatOBR.
I'm not even going to shoot it again, I'll call Rainer some time this week and just send it back and get store credit or my money back I guess.
