Dear MI,
I have several rifles that have a standard barrel nut that I'd like to update with ROUND (not quad rail) free float handguards. I have your Gen-2 two piece handguards on an older rifle and I really like them. I had to cut off the delta ring to install it, but did not have to replace the barrel nut nor did I have to remove the fixed front sight.
I would like to suggest that you adapt this design to include an M-Lok option on the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions, removing the pic-rail on the sides and bottom. I understand there will still be a short section of pic-rail or at least a flange for the mating screws on the front and rear of the sides, but that's fine by me. A continuous rail along the top is preferred.
As I see it, the trend it going towards round handguards via M-lok or Keymod. Yet no one offers a two-piece drop in option for those that do not or cannot remove the barrel nut or front sight base.
What do you think?
