Tony,
You first contacted me about the hand guards saying you had a pair of them and you stripped out one of the screws while working on one.
I had sent you two replacement screws in case the second screw stripped out while you were moving the hand guards around.
You voiced your displeasure with the hand guard and the screw stripping out, I understand that.
That screw is a sacrificial part to preserve the hand guard in the event its over tightened.
The baggie the screw comes in has a sticker that says "Hand tight only" in hopes to prevent over tightening.
The head of the screw only needs to be tightened flush with the bottom of the hand guard, any more and the head of the screw can be stripped out.
Since in your own words you probably got the hand guards from Brownell's or MidwayUSA, maybe a year ago, there isn't much we can do besides keep them serviceable for you.
We do not have a trade in program or a way to return old/used parts for new parts, which is why I suggested by email that you clean the hand guards up and sell them on the used market.
In your last email you said "I am going to list them, if they sell i want to get the gen 2 handguards. "
I had believed that everything worked out and you were going to sell the hand guards and use the funds towards a future purchase.
Then to come on here and post that you want the Gen-2 hand guards thinking the outcome would be different is a little confusing.
I do the best I can to take care of our customers, but cant take back year old used hand guards and give you new ones.
If you have any questions you have my email.
Thank You
Andy

ETA- To clarify, we will replace the Gen-1 hand guard with the same Gen-1 hand guard under warranty, however we will not take back a damaged Gen-1 and give you a new Gen-2.
