what is the difference in this and the previous gen?

This is great tho, I am looking to use this on my 18" grendel uppper when i get to that stage of the build. I'll be looking forward to this.

Thanks for being minimalist with your logo. I understand the importance of brand recognition, but certain brands of parts and even complete uppers and lowers are getting ridiculous with the large white logos plastered all over everything. I prefer your small and subdued approach. I'll be ordering one of these.

These have a smaller diameter and weigh less. they are also very modular with how you can place the rail sections including sections with QD sockets.

Troy, is this going to be a plan? I am looking forward to this new rail, but will be a couple of months before I am ready to begin my new build anyway.

Thanks for the great service, and speedy replies! L2B

How big are the slots on the Gen2 SS rails? I'm gathering parts for a "youth build" project with my son (a very robust 8 yr old), and I'm concerned that the slots maybe be too big for smaller fingers.

Is it possible to chop a FSB to fit under these handguards?

ETA- Just took some rough measurements, and it looks like its going to be close. Anyone try this yet? Also, anyone got pics of a 15" gen 2 on a 16" gun?
