Do you guys remove the foam insert when installing IIIa soft armor in the soft armor pocket? It seems there may be enough room for both. What to do?
Thanks,

I take the foam out. Its up to you though but I prefer less bulk.

I took the foam out because the thick-ass soft armour that I bought for it (not designed for it, but it just fits) is a tight enough squeeze on it's own.

Is there a negative other than the added bulk of the 1/4'' foam? There seems to be plenty of room for the foam and IIIa armor in the pocket. It also seems to kinda keep my 11 x 14 backers in place as well as adding some padding against the armor and body. You guys are the experts and if you say take it out I will take your word and remove it.

The extra room is because of the wrong size backers. The PIG PC backers are a snug fit. We all assume a certain amount of risk with our jobs so go with what you are comfortable with.

What is the correct size? A 12x14? The 14" is perfect although they lack about 3/4'' in width of filling the pocket. Regardless of their position left to right they completely back a Large Esapi plate.

The correct size is the PIG PC Soft Armor Insert... it is specifically designed for the PIG PC. Other standard size armor backers wont be a perfect fit.

Any update? I did get a notice that the Velocity Systems III/IV ICW plates are back in stock. Picked one up but still need the soft armor backer for it...
