Apologies in advance for the long story that is not your problem. No part of my problem is particularly within CMMG's purview, CMMG's fault or even fixable by CMMG. What I am seeking is information that CMMG may or may not be able to give me.
I ordered and paid for a CMMG 9mm AR the beginning of February from a local Gun shop. At the time he texted me a screenshot from his distributor page that showed 10 in stock. I immediately went down and plunked down the cash. A couple weeks later I was told that the "blizzards out east" were messing with shipments and everything was slow. A week or so later I was told that they were now out of stock, and that the distributer had cancelled my order. When I asked about how my ordered and paid for rifle went from "on the way" to out of stock, I was told that the distributor oversold that rifle, and that they cancelled his (my) order. In the last month I have been told that they have never been back in stock for him to re-order.
Since I have been told I am too trusting, and I have other friends that are screaming at me that I have been ripped off and that I am screwed, before I stop giving my LGS friend the benefit of the doubt, it occurred to me that I might be able to fact check some of this story. I have been told that a BIG distributor out east had some of your 9mm rifles at the very beginning of Feb, oversold them, and have not gotten any subsequent shipments of 9mm AR's in the last 2 months. Without compromising your business, is it possible to confirm or deny that situation? Is there some reason that CMMG 9mm AR's might be in short supply - for example if you only set up the tooling and produce runs of them at certain times of the year, or whatever? Can you shed any light on the CMMG 9mm AR supply chain even if only who might have one in stock?
Thank you for your time.
