It seems to be what everyone is moving towards. I also hear it is stronger than Keymod. Why not an MLOK option for the KMR like KAC does with the URX 4?

Because keymod accessories can be removed and reattached without losing zero. Have you ever tried shooting with a flashlight or foregrip that wasn't zeroed? <img src=http://www.ar15.com/images/smilies/smiley_abused.gif border=0 align=middle>
ETA: I honestly don't know why, I can only assume its a cool guy factor thing. |

I think they've stated their committed to KeyMod and that the PKMR is designed to directly compete against M-Lok in the value market, if you will.
So, I think it's safe to say at a minimum that they want to see how PKMR (if it's ever friggin released, come on already!) helps them compete against M-Lok in the budget space. |
|
[#3]
It would be nice if they'd actually release the PKMR to people that want to buy it.
I doubt we'll ever see a MLOK rail by BCM. |
|
[#4]
I always thought that BCM would not manufacture an MLOK rail due to Eric Kincel. He was with VLTOR and had a hand in the Key Mod design before he went to work for BCM.
I do not know the whole story but that may have something to do with why BCM is committed to Key Mod. |

Cutting off their nose to spite their face.
They have lost 10s or 100s of thousands of dollars in sales. |

I've noticed BCM is silent on this issue as well, I wouldn't hold my breathe. Gas blocks that are not pinned & lack of an MLOK rail keeps me away from BCM personally, but BCM certainly isn't hurting for business so I wouldn't count on it. Keymod doesn't suck but I do believe MLOK is superior (VHS vs.Beta & Blu Ray vs. HD DVD). Roll with Daniel Defense, KAC, Noveske (recent convert) & Geissele if you want MLOK.

[#7]
I'd be very interested in a complete MLOK upper. As it stands right now I own one BCM upper and unfortunately it will probably stay that way.

View Quote BCM isn't silent on this. On another site, Paul Buffoni said that he was open to doing m-lok, but had not gotten together with Magpul as of yet. Additionally, he didn't feel it necessary, since they are selling keymod so well. But he was open to it. I would personally love m-lok kmr. |

[#9]
I personally don't care about the Keymod vs M-LOK debate. The most I would ever mount on my handguard are a light, grip and handstop and both formats have enough choices of those accessories for me. The reason I bought my KMR was primarily for the installation process/mounting design and the slim dimensions. (<homersimpson>...and magnesium alloy, ahhhhhhh </homersimpson>)
I don't believe M-LOK was even a concept when Eric was designing Keymod. It was first so many leading manufacturers went with it. As time passes things get changed or improved and competing designs come out. So M-LOK is just the latest iteration of an similar modular idea. A person would have to be completely closed minded to not be open to adopt newer "technology" that may be better in some ways. I think it would be a good option if Paul were to offer an M-LOK version of the KMR (would it be called "MLR"?), but if he doesn't I think his business will be fine. |

But Burger King does have a Big King sandwich... |

We wanted to expand the KMR handguard line last year, but industry demands (from the election) made it so we were overrun with backorders. As such we couldn't shut down machines to prototype or run new SKUs if the KMR demands exceed supply. We expect 2017 to return back to normal volumes. A KMR version in Mlok and Picatinny should be out in late 2017. (along with some other cool new parts)
Thank you very much for your interest in BCM products! |

AWESOME !!!!!!
I love BCM. I have 2 of em. Both with 13" KMR alpha rails. But at the end of the day I do prefer M-Lok over Keymod. PS. It better use the same barrel nut !! My 14.5 BFH ELW demands it. |

Something in the 13.7" barreled flavor would be nice to boot..................

Great news! That should give me enough time to save for the Mlok rail.

Picatinny, KMR-A, or MLOK. I do not care, all do the same job (mount sh*t on rifles). I like the mounting system of the DD rails (DDM4 picatinny and MLOK), but I also like the KMR-A mounting system.
BCM, I look forward to your new products. |

When can we expect accessories to be available in M-LOK? I have some keymod rails right now and the only reason is that I only use BCM accessories with them.
|
|
[#32]
I hope with the release of the M-Lok rails that accessories will follow, I love the BACK grip panels and would love some for an M-Lok rail I have.

Super stoked for a 13" MMR and M-LOK KAGs!

I hope they make some sweet MLOK covers like their KM covers. I will be getting an MLOK once out as I have a V7 TI barrel nut and clamp nuts.

Man, I can't wait to get my hands on a 12.5" upper with the 10" MMR! Well, I guess I can wait... I just started the Form 1 on my BCM lower so I have plenty of time

Dunno, if it's an active decision that'd be like trying to corner the market on New Coke

Whats the hold up? This and a FDE gunfighter with the cheek weld i have been waiting for. I'm getting ready to say f it and rattle can a black one. BCM drags their ass on everything. And I have all BCM Furniture. Cept rails. cause I don't care for keymod after i tried it.
