KeyMod™ VPG-S - ETA is approx. 4-5 weeks. Molds are being textured right now.
Rail panel covers are still in development. Prototypes were tested (like most all BCM products) by http://www.bravocompanymfg.com/gunfighters/index.php , with some mixed results, so we are going back to drawing board to make some revisions. Thank you for your interest! |

How well will the VFG and keymod rail covers integrate with one another?

I'm using Noveske's at the moment, and they're not too bad at all.
I hate how hard SOME are to get on and off (but then, I only use my thumbs and no heat). But I haven't noticed any wobble that some people talk about--I only have it on about 4" along the bottom and the left-side (along with the hand-stop). |

View Quote It's good to know that the Noveske covers fit the KMR. It appears that KAC and Noveske are the only ones making keymod rail covers right now. I wonder how the KAC URX 4 rail covers work on the KMR rail compared to the Noveske? |

I really pray the new rail covers are still as low profile as the original covers. ??

Thanks.
ETA: Very interesting video, but to me the suppressor in the pic above doesn't look like the one in the video. |
|
Thats what i thought at first also but the design of the back of the suppressor is what confirms it.
The vidio shows it on a weapon with a long rail that covers the back of the suppressor,if you watch to the 1:40 and the1:42 exactly mark, you can see what i mean. In the pic above in this thread of the suppressor on the rifle you can just barely see the crap sticking out of the front of the suppressor,i have a 1920x1080 32" samsung screen believe me it's there,if the camra angle was different you could see it better. |

Any new news on rail cover eta?
Thinking of just ordering the kac covers |

Next month, via their Facebook page...
Hopefully they mean the first week of next month. |
|

Yep. Sorry, my last post was about their 4-5 weeks statement regarding the vfg, so that's what I meant.

VPG-KM should be soon. In production now.
http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=BCM-VG-S-KM-Black Thanks! Rail covers are in redesign. Designing and testing a couple different concepts. More KM stuff to come. Sling mounts - next month. Light mounts, couple types - summer. |

Here's the whole post to explain, along with the captions to each photo:
I got my press samples of Bravo Company's soon-to-be-released VG-S-KM. I put one on my KMR 13 next to the original Picatinny VFG-S and a Magpul RVG to make it easier to compare mounted dimensions. One of the concerns I've read about is how far the skirt of the VG-S-KM extends beyond the rail. However, it actually extends *less* than the VFG-S and the RVG. In the hand it feels great, and it makes a lot of sense. The toolless direct attachment system designed by Eric Kincel is fantastic. Lockup on my samples is rock solid, and each is easily put in place or removed as needed. I will probably do a "quick look" video on these later this week just so people can see how they work. The production units may or may not have different tolerances than these units, so a true review would not necessarily convey to the product on the market in about a month. However, even if you're not interesting in KeyMod or a vertical grip, you will be impressed with this design. This is a black VG-S-KM in the open position. The flat piece under the mounting studs is actually spring loaded, and when you press the VG onto a KeyMod panel, the space under the studs opens to mate with the slot. https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/t1.0-9/10169167_689937827732075_4369960824747402764_n.jpg Magpul RVG, VG-S-KM, VG-S. You can see how the VG-S-KM gives an even lower profile than the VG-S, which I like. It shares the same 5deg angle and is reversible, just like the VG-S. https://scontent-a-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/t1.0-9/1902941_689937854398739_3366488672747106723_n.jpg Here's another look comparing the skirts of the three different grips. The VG-S-KM is actually the smallest of the bunch. https://scontent-a-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc1/t1.0-9/10169304_689937864398738_441741795656158937_n.jpg The skirt of the VG-S-KM is also closer to the handguard than either of the rail-mounted vertical grips. This improves the feel in the hand and makes a great transition from the handguard to the grip. https://scontent-a-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc1/t1.0-9/10155175_689937841065407_5279792882542840704_n.jpg One last view of the skirts, showing that the skirt on the VG-S-KM is actually narrower than that of the RVG or VG-S. https://scontent-b-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/t1.0-9/10294224_689937821065409_5427924450687741126_n.jpg |

QuietRiot11 thanks for the explanation. The thing that gets me about the skirt is that I was expecting it to be designed/shaped in such a way so that it would integrate seamlessly with the upcoming rail panels, should you choose to use them together. (I hope that makes sense.) I was surprised to see that it apparently will not work in such a way. I'll still be buying a couple, they're just not exactly what I expected.
|
|
It's not designed to be a KMR-specific product. The skirt needs to be the way it is to accommodate the latching mechanism, more or less.
