I received one of these in Ranger Green and I was a little skeptical before I got it in regards to it being confortable (or even fitting) for a guy with a 54" chest. Well, I contacted Paul and he assured me it would fit so I gave it a go.
After receiving it, I adjusted the vest and put it on, I was very surprised! It is extremely comfortable and I have adjustment left. It does not hinder movement, magazines are easy to access and I like the modular design. Big props to BCM and 03 Design Group. |

I got mine adjusted this weekend and it fits great. As stated there is a ton of adjustment in this think. When I got it was huge and through a few pulls I got it down to where I need it.
I do have a question though on the elastic mag bands. I had one come apart and upon looking at the others they are just tied together? I retied mine and it seems to work although had it happened anywhere else other than my basement I would have probably lost the little cloth pull tab. Maybe a few stiches to keep them attached to the elastic bands? then again they couldnt be replaced as easily then I suppose. Otherwise I really like the fit and finish. Works great with my belt setup. I may add a few pistol mag pouches and maybe a admin or med pouch to round it off |

A question for the people that are running these:
Have you been adding anything to your BCM 03 MSF, or are you running it pretty much out of the box with the exception of adding a hydration bladder? I'm trying to think what else I'd want to add to one of these for a class environment, but everything I can come up with could just as easily go on the first line belt. |
|
Almost all the people I see the BCM 03 MSF in classes, etc. haven't been adding pouches.
I run my pistol and pisol mags on my belt (like I would at work) and all my rifle mags and water in the BCM 03 MSF. Most people use this same set up that I do. Take a look at page 4, lots of pics from classes. Hope this helps. |
|
Thanks, Jeff - thats kinda what precipitated the question. The BCM 03 MSF seems just about perfect for most uses as is - four mags and hydration.

Followup: my BCM 03 MSF came in today. Very impressive!
I'll need to tinker a bit to get it to fit properly, but what I see I like. First rate design and workmanship. |

I have a class next month that I need one for. And I want to experiment with one as an actual active shooter rig.

Only foliage green is out of stock. Multi-Cam, Black, and Coyote Brown are still in stock

I need to add a first aid pouch to mine. Anybody using one they'd recommend?

I ran one in an EAG carbine class a couple of weeks ago, and was very happy with the fit, durability and ergonomics of the rig. Held everything in place, easy to get into, get on and off, and worked great with a Camelbak bladder in the rear pouch. But...I had the same issues with the mag bands. By the end of the two day class, all four had just fallen right off. Lost one of the canvas tabs somewhere on the range. Surprised that this one part seemed so poorly put together, when the rest is solid as a tank. |

Love the art work!!
Question tho, when (if ever) will the 03MSF chest rig be back in stock? |
|
Came here specifically to see if these are to be restocked. Guess I'll just set up the "email me when back in stock" and hold my breath...

A shame they can't keep this in stock, been trying to get one for close to a year now. I think bcm needs to re-evaluate their production run size!

I checked on and off, so I don't know how many times they were restocked and sold out in between, but the Coyote rig was showing as in stock until the last few weeks. The other 3 colors have shown out of stock for quite some time. Seems like more than a year, but that's just a guess. ETA: Basically, I was watching for a Multicam rig, and when I finally decided to get the Coyote rig, it was out of stock. |
|
Bravo Company, you got even a wild guess on when some or any colors are being restocked?

Have you thought about making a rig for hunters? Here in the south where we sit in treestands, often space is limited. I use a climber stand and a backpack won't cut it. You can't sit in the stand and have easy access to your calls, themacell, cellphone, headlights etc. Nor can you easily pack the stand in and out of the woods with your junk in a backpack. There is just no room. With a chest rig you can have access to all this stuff, all the time but the mag pouches don't retain these loose items well. One mag pouch is enough for a hunter but the other pouches could be closed off with quiet bungee loops or the likes to retain the loose items hunters carry. By having a chest pack I can have access to the stuff while in the stand and it won't get in the way of leaning back to get comfortable.
I don't care about fancy name brand camo, just a functional OD, Brown or Black chest rig would work great. Of course to make it sell better with some hunters a name brand pattern would be good. Thoughts? PM me if you would like to discuss it in depth. I am a guide and deal serve about 100 hunters a year in SC (all fair chase, no dogs). (Long hunting season here) |

email reply from Bravo
"Very sorry for the delay on chest harnesses. Industry demand and delays have limited the availability of the very popular BCM Chest Harness. Very frustrating for our customers like yourself. ETA is late this year or early 2013." |

I purchased one of these used from a member of the board and didn't realize it didn't have the hydration pouch attached. Anyone know if there are any hydration pouches on the market that will fit this rig like the original?

Is BCM actively trying to get these back in stock? It's been 10 months I think since the last time I saw them available.

I want one before my next rifle class in Aug but I am beginning to think I may be out of luck. Where is that "take my money!" .jpg when I need it? |

Haley Strategic is making a nice chest rig. Might be worth checking out.
|
|
I have a feeling a lot of consumers money that was going to be spent on a BCM chest rig is now going over to the Haley rig due to the long delay in getting the product out.
|
|
Well that sucks. I've seen the D3 and it's more then I need. I'm just looking for a simple split front for doing carbine classes with.
|
|
Over the last 3 years, they've been out of stock at least 11 months of each year. I wouldn't wait on these. They had one color in stock last April, but nothing since then that I have seen. I'm sure there's some strange business holdup on the back end, because it seems like they sell out of as many as they can make very quickly.

Yeah, they, pretty much, won't be in stock in our lifetime.

I have a coyote one now, and would like a second one in FG. Any chance these will come back in stock while I'm still young enough to not need a MOLLE-attached colostomy bag?

Send an email to [email protected] and they would be able to best answer your questions. I don't believe that anyone from Bravo Company is on the forums on a regular basis. Have a great weekend!

In November I emailed them and received this response:
Sorry but due to industry demand and delays the entire industry is overloaded and we have no ETA at this time. We do not take back orders or pre-orders. For out of stock products, please be sure to sign up for the “Email me when Back-In-Stock” feature on our website. See attached. Thanks for your interest!! I really find it hard to believe that Industry demand would still be so high for a non-ammunition item. I mean heck, Haley released his chest rig this past year during the "high demand". I have a feeling BCM has little interest or motivation to get these out soon. |
