A return customer! Its been a couple of years.
Now I'd like to send you my RainerArms RUC-1 upper (2011), which has:
CHF, 14.5", 5.56, PENCIL barrel with a wimpy shoulder (I have a few photos that will help)
Existing pinned RA muzzle device, which MAY have the muzzle device soldered on (there is a visible silver material, have photos)
Existing pinned gas block, non-adjustable
I saw that you don't remove muzzle devices that have been soldered, so that's a big question up front, right?
The next concern is pinning a new Titanium gas block (SLR, adjustable). If no, not a deal breaker for this light-weight suppressed project (AAC Mini-4).
Then there's the pencil barrel issue and pin/weld of a new AAC QD muzzle device, after the RA one has been removed (given the soldered-concern works out). The AAC Brake-v1 would be my first choice, but the AAC three-prong (tiiinnnggg! lol) FH would be acceptable too. About the PENCIL barrel concern...I know the SCAR-17 PENCIL barrels are advertised to need the AAC FH and NOT the AAC brake (per AAC) and the shoulder on my RA RUC-1 pencil barrel is just as wimpy if not wimpier.
Here's how I hope it works out:
Remove existing RA pin/weld muzzle device
Remove existing RA pinned gas block
Pin new SLR titanium adj gas block
Pin/weld new AAC QD mount (for AAC Mini-4 suppressor)
One possible saving grace, if the existing RA muzzle device is soldered on...the barrel could be cut shorter, just past the soldered area, and then recrowned/rethreaded for the new AAC muzzle device pin/weld. The AAC QD is going to be a longer muzzle device than the existing non-QD RA muzzle device. Just a thought, not sure that would be a good work-around solution for you or not.
Let me know and I can get photos to you or get this shipped. btw, I'd be fine with buying the AAC FH/brake from your website, if in-stock.
