It appears Cabelas has their listings up for the FDE and Black version. Able to backorder and it appears to claim a 5-6wk ship time at the moment. Remember to use the magazines you will need to purchase that extra piece. The nice thing is that the magazine conversion kit comes with a magazine (which I believe magpul listed the 308 AICS polymer mags around $50 bucks).

If I were them, I would have a few different chassis, aftermarket stock, and several different bottom metals and swap things around to make sure these are gonna work. I don't think they'll sell nearly as many of them as the Rifle PMAGs, or the Glock mags though. |

i "think" midway used to say May, but not now...
would be nice if Magpul would give a ballpark ETA on them... |

Eh, once they are released, it'll be tough to find one for a while. Hopefully we can get hands on them before hunting season.

Website still says Summer 15. I, for one, am pretty frustrated at this point because I don't feel like I'll have enough time to practice before hunting season.

Well, I considering I recently bought a .308 Remington 700 SPS Tactical AAC-SD, this has caught my attention. Also I'm not familiar with the 700 in general LOL
So with this stock I will be able to use Detachable Magazines? Or will I have to buy something else with the stock to do that? |

Don't be glib, forgive me for not wanting to shoot at an animal without being practiced on my gear.
The stock will change my entire setup from how the action marries the stock to cheekweld and the LOP. Any one of those can have an effect on accuracy. I'm not Todd Hodnet so every hour I spend on the range is one less hour I spend looking for a wounded animal. |

I hope you don't have to wait for NFA items, I feel you would go crazy. Good god man, knock it off. I didn't say the stock sucks, magpul is gay, or that your mom smells of elderberries. The 700 stock looks like a great product and magpul missed their own projected launch without a single word. Why does my dissatisfaction with a "want" and not a demand get you so riled up? Go plant a garden or something. Tell you what, I'll stop being excited about seemingly good products just for you. Waiting on a suppressor (currently) is a much different ballgame because you start knowing the wait is open ended. Hell, the ATF actually provides updates if you want them. I'm not sure what your deal is but take your ball and go home. ETA: I've never had the pleasure of elk hunting before, ever, nor do I know if I'll ever get to do it again so yeah missing the chance to have my rifle exactly how I want it is a bit of a disappointment. |

I'm not trying to be a dick to Magpul, or to anyone that is waiting on one of their products to be released. I myself have been a Magpul whore for quite a few years. All of my rifles, both personal and work, are decked out in Magpul equipment. But after 10+ years of Magpul running at full speed and producing great products in mass quantities, I think we should have all learned by now that when Magpul gives an anticipated release date, it is surely their best case scenario and what they want to meet. But in reality, we should also know to take that advertised availability date and add 6 to 12 to even 18 months to calculate a more accurate release date. Lastly, we should also know that although Magpul has been much more forthcoming in answering inquiries in regards to release dates to help satiate customers awaiting the latest and greatest Magpul product, they very rarely, if ever, tell us when it is actually being released until the day they ship the first case of the product to the dealers and distributors. That's just the way it is. Again, I'm not mocking Magpul nor am I coming down an anyone awaiting a product. I'm just stating a facts that we all know deep down are true.

im about to cancel my order, anyone know if these are good? carbon fiber stock

That's a totally different animal than the 700 hunter. As frustrated as I am with the delay I don't think I'd be in a hurry to spend 5x more unless I wanted the stock to fit a different mission.

The fact we have not released the stock yet is a reflection of our commitment to R&D.
No one likes to wait (including us) but it is better to have as many issues addressed before release than to have the customer deal with the hassle afterwards. |

Well, there's one thing about it, the level of frustration expressed here in this thread is an indication of the demand for a product such as this. I hope you don't lose the momentum of what now appears to be a rather premature announcement of a product rollout and availability. Now we need to see your reflection of your commitment to your customers. It would have been nice to have addressed this with the public sooner rather than later so as not to have jeopardized your customer base and their trust. Now we need to see your reflection of your commitment to your customers. It would have been nice to have addressed this with the public sooner rather than later so as not to have jeopardized your customer base and their trust. We have been doing this for about 15 years now and have moved from telling everybody everything about the development process (everyone complained about dates all the time), to sayingnothing at all until the product is released (again everyone complained that they had no notice of a product coming out so they could plan a purchase). Now the happy medium is announce the product if the item moves into hard tooling with no firm ship date and then announce again when the item is actually shipping in quantity. A lot of time everything goes to plan and the item ships in a few months after the initial announcement. Sometimes it does not go as planned, but because we do not take deposits we are the only ones suffering financially until the item is ready to be released and shipping. It hurts not to be shipping a product but we will not release an item till it reaches our standard to ship. Not the perfect system by any means but better than the other extremes we have tried. |

I want this stock as much as the next guy, but I also want a product that is g2g out of the box, maybe with only minute fitting, which I don't mind. If it takes an extra month or 8, so be it.
