I need a mid length SL in OD green like yesterday. Let's go Magpul, take my money!

After you get these guys a mid length id like to buy a rifle length.
I'd like a mid-length and a rifle length one. I have no carbine length firearms with standard hand-guards.

No news, and I asked. View Quote Sad to hear that. I'm really needing this. If it's not released soon, I'm going to lose a lot more money when I plunk down for a Troy Delta because I seriously need to get this rifle out and shoot it. It's the only non-SBR I own and I want to sight in the scope. |
I went with an ALG M-Lok rail instead...with no ETA, I wasn't going to wait anymore.
I guess I'll go with the B5 stock was hoping they would announce at the nra convention, I had a cheapo build I was throwing this one on but I can't wait any longer.
Another vote for a rifle-length SL, cash in hand and waiting....

I personally got sick of waiting, so I went with a Troy Mid-Length Delta Rail from Primary Arms and couldn't be happier with it. They had a sale going last month for $160!

No doubt Magpul will eventually complete their MOE SL line with mid and rifle length handguards. Its understandable that they started with the carbine size since carbine gas is so prevalent. As usual, they don't promise anything in the way of schedule, the longer sizes will just show up one of these days. For my current build, I'm using a mid length MOE M-lok handguard for starters. It will easy enough to swap out when the time comes and MOE handguards are cheap in comparison to the best aluminum FF jobs. IMO, bare skin on bare aluminum is NFG, plastic is the ideal material for handguards. Also, injection molding enables Magpul to achieve ergonomically-perfect shapes. - CW

I like so many others am really looking forward to this product releasing soon. I had high hopes that MagPul would be able to apply the needed resources to make this happen quickly after the flurry of products released pre/post Shot Show this year. Thankfully, I can afford to install a MOE M-LOK Handguard while I wait patently for the SL version to become available. I would only ask that the company focus on the "CORE" products that have created the foundation of the companies success first and foremost. The products such as the 700 Hunter are awesome and have their place but it should be firmly in the backseat compared to AR related gear IMHO. Either way cheers to MagPul on releasing some great kit in 15' and taking the steps to make the Glock magazine issues public w/ swift correction.

Reality is that a slim line mid length would sell more units in one month than all the 700 stocks do in one year. The slim line carbine hand guard was introduced well over a year ago they had to know the consumer was going to want other lengths. IMO they're dropping the ball on this one.

One of the problems is that post-Sandy Hook, most of the manufacturers essentially abandoned Midlength to streamline their product line and maximize production. Midlength accessory sales are probably much lower as a result particularly to OEMs.

On their Facebook page on April 24th 2015 Magpul replied to a post saying MOE SL in midlength would be next followed by the rifle length. So it sounds like they will be a reality....eventually.

Nothing definitive?
Not even a picture? I couldn't wait any longer and bought something else for my midlength. I do like my carbine length SL handguard on my work SBR. |

View Quote Nope. while i dont expect it immediately, it would be nice to have a date. Do they plan on showing it at next years shot show? |

Sheesh. It's been such a long wait that the thread about rifle-length SL handguards fell off into the archives!!!
I'm interested in both mid and rifle length SLs. I bet they are going to look great on dissipator builds. |
what is the hold up, seriously? it cannot be that hard to stretch an existing handguard just a little bit longer.
I would buy the sh** out of the mid-length hand guards. Anytime now ...
It's been a year since the carbine length was released, this is taking way to long.
GUYS DON'T ASK ABOUT MAGPULS LEAD TIMES! YOU CAN'T, EVER. IF YOU ARE TOO IMPATIENT GO MAKE YOUR OWN MAGPUL HANDGUARDS AND DISREGARD THEIR PATENTS COMPLETELY.

Nope, the next bitch will be Rifle length, then MG42 mags, and a little later it will change to Stuka divebomber air sirens. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Everyone can stop bitching now. Nope, still gonna bitch...about something. Something we always said in the Marines is that you knew a Marine was still alive if he was complaining about something. |

Saw it on Instagram yesterday, on email backorder notice for AIM today. Thanks for finally releasing this. :D

Except that the ad copy states its for round retainer caps only... uh why? When most mid-lengths have triangle caps...
Bitching mode reactivated! |
Can we bitch about these being made for the round forward retainer caps when mid-length uppers most commonly use triangular caps?
Hopefully this is a typo or they plan on releasing another version! "*NOTE: The Mid-Length MOE SL Hand Guard is a direct replacement for most factory plastic, two-piece, mid-length hand guards and utilizes the existing ROUND front hand guard retaining cap and spring-loaded delta ring. Must be used with A2 front sight assembly; triangular retaining caps and other gas blocks are not compatible" |
