I am getting ready to get some new handguards and really like the MOE SL's, but I need midlength. Are they going to be available any time soon?
|

[#1]
Won't be immediate, but it is a reasonably forseseeable extension to the line.

While I eagerly await the midlength version, I have a question.
Does this require cutting off the front sling swivel loop? Thanks. |

Holding off replacing my standard handgaurds on my new PSA upper for a set....
Are carbine still more populare than midlength? Figured ml would be released first. |
|
[#4]
Will this new SL handguard interfere with the bayonet lug or the attaching of the bayonet on rifles with that feature?

Hoping for a mid length as well. I knew I should have just purchased the carbine upper.

[#11]
ok, removed my sling swivel. C'mon and release this in midlength already.
I'm ready!!! |

I haven't seen anything out of SHOT regarding this yet. Any chance they are waiting til the end of SHOT?

How long can it take to make the same darn item just a little bit longer? It's nonsense..I'd guess they are making changes.... |

Magpul will release it when it is ready and they do not owe you a thing. They didn't even confirm they were going to make it. You obviously have no knowledge on manufacturing and design, its not as easy as "just making the same item a little bit longer." think then type you will come off better |

[#25]
I am sure there is more to just extending it as the carbine model was for round handguard caps only. Most mid lengths use triangular ones.

My newest 6.8 is almost done. It wants stealth grey furniture, but has a midlength gas system. (hint hint)

Preparing to mould polymer is fairly time consuming. Once the moulds are made it gets faster. But Magpul seem to have a lot of other things on their collective plate at the moment, based on SHOT announcements. Anxiously awaiting SL/ML handguards as well |

The bummer to me is you know they see this thread and just continually choose to ignore it.
If I could get a time estimate that would be cool. I have a build I would like to finish, and it's getting painted so it's not like I can just buy another (the glock business model) |

Magpul doesn't really give times on to many things because people piss and moan and bitch when they don't/can't release it on the date they gave. This has been practice for a while. They've started to do it on a limited basis again as of late and I'm sure people will once again bitch and complain when they are unable to nail the time frame. |

For the life of me I just do not remember asking you anything, but since you have decided to interject on your own I will wish you a good day. I will keep fighting the good fight here in konnecticut like a wild animal until I am finally able to relocate my family to a free state. I am done talking to you. Magpul... I'm really looking forward to the SL middy, come out with it soon please. Can't wait to camo this rifle once I have all the right parts. |

I am loosin hope on Magpul. If they were close, wouldn't they show it off at Shot? They were clearly focused on expanding product line with Glock mags, AK furniture and their Remington 700 stock. I'm starting to look elsewhere. Magpul, your about to loose my sell...

Can we get the MOE handguards, not the SL, in midlength and M-LOK?

I emailed Magpul today. They are planning on making them but no ETA. I would recommend everyone on here that would like one, email them. The best email for them is [email protected] requesting they make midlength. I don't know about ya'll but I'm building my 1st AR right now so the sooner the better for me but I'll just get the MOE for now and have to upgrade to SL later.

Magpul is like any other company. They understand money. If there is an active and vocal want from consumers for a specific product they will be more likely to produce said product. I'm sure they know the product is wanted it is merely money generated per product at this point with all the products coming out at SHOT. The Glock mags and AK products I'm sure are selling like crazy because they are new products, the SL is merely an upgraded product of an already existing product. I work National Customer Service. I deal with phones calls and emails all day. I understand that shear numbers can greatly influence the direction a company goes. If you disagree, don't email them. It's strictly a personal choice.

They have confirmed multiple times they plan on making them, including to you on the phone evidently We don't have to convince them to do so and asking about it on the phone isn't going to make them come out any faster. |
