[Last Edit: 6/12/2012 9:15:56 AM by VA-gunnut]
I like the look/functionality of the aluminum strike plate for the UBR, but I have neither the need nor the funds for a UBR buttstock. I currently have a MOE buttstock and a CTR buttstock. Neither of these have a slot for a strike plate, but they do appear to have existing holes that would match up with the mounting holes of the strike plate. I'm wondering if I could just cut out a slot for the strike plate to slide into, then attach it through these existing holes. Has anyone tried this? Would the force from using the strike plate (in say a butt stroking maneuver) cause damage to the standard buffer tube? Does anyone have a magpul strike plate they could take some measurements on for me?

If you buttstroke somebody, your buffer tube will be jacked. My preference is the muzzle tap for up close non shooting situations.

And risk glass shards on your buttstock? Right where your cheek goes? No thanks, muzzle tap is more feasable for me. However, YMMV. |
