Thanks to FromMyColdDeadHand for helping me with pics over this last series of classes (both running his camera and post processing pics ... it's a lot of work). I greatly appriciate all the time and effort, Brother!

Before people start commenting about the eye pro ....
Keep in mind that the instructors had put a couple rounds down range (thus their guns were hot) .... we weren't firing at the time (take a look at the gun in the background ... bolt locked to the rear, no mag in the chamber), but the range was hot. Costa was looking at something down range through the scope. Take a look at the position of his hand on the pistol grip. |

Jeff's right. Not even an issue, safety on, hand off fire control, glasses within reach.
I don't think you can accurately judge what's going on either left, right, or in front of Chris. Considering he's behind the gun, it's safe to assume no one is down range. No fuss, no muss. |

I took the pic and I can confirm that we were just taking some pics. IIRC Chris' gun still had his dope from sea level, this is the first day before lunch and I think he was just trying to figure out what his hold overs were going to be. We are at something like 5450 feet, with a density altitude around 7500 or so, IIRC. Still kicking myself for not getting some behind the scope pics of that leupy...
One other thing, I think most of the pics from this class were taken with my camera, but they weren't all taken by me. Travis did a great job on the second day picking up the camera and taking pics of the people in class as we went thru some of the excercises. He is not only a gifted shooter behind a rifle and pistol, but also a camera. |

what you running on that OBR and did you like it?

I was running a Nightforce 2.5-10x32.
I really loved this optic on the OBR. It was enough magnification for what I needed, short, lightweight, excellent glass, great features, and didn't leave a large footprint. With the 32mm objective I was able to get the scope very close to the top rail ... and as a result I didn't need a cheek riser on the stock. I'll be doing a review of this scope when I have some time. I'm also running this scope on my competition 5.56mm AR15:

Jeff was nice enough to let me run some rounds thru the OBR. I thought at first I'd have an issue with the low mount, but it makes perfect sense with the CTR stock. I have a big fat head and the scope and reticle where right where they were supposed to be and it was really comfortable to shoot. I shot a mag of cheap 308 ammo I brought and I rang steel to 400 yards with out a hitch, I was almost bored by the end the mag. Nice set-up.

A couple of pics down range. I could only get a 425 yard range for this class, but I didn't hear anyone complaining about the lack of distance:

Several different bolt action guns were used (Accuracy International, Nighthawk, etc). More pics to come.
