I ordered 116018 (16" 1:9 middy kit) on Dec 24th...still waiting patiently. Just got an email saying my kit shipped today (5/2/13). Damn, I ordered 12/25, nothing yet as of 5/3/13. I must have been right at a cut off and should be close to the next in line. |

Anybody actually getting tracking info when they click the UPS tracking number link in the shipping notification email? Mine is saying "could not locate the shipment details".
I know it says the tracking number can be invalid for one day until it gets scanned...but its never taken more than a few hours when something gets shipped by Midway. |
|
yes mine will be here monday

It shipped on 5-3 and is getting here 5-6. Quoted:

You waited this long and the kits are finally shipping and NOW you cancel it? Off all the things on this rifle, the stock is about the easiest thing to change, especially since it's just a kit still. |

Update:
Received my middy kit today. Looks great. I did notice a few differences between this kit and the last kit I bought from Del-Ton, a carbine kit several months ago. This kit's upper is a square-forge mark, where my last upper was Anchor Harvey. The BCG in this kit is also a semi, where my last kit had a nice FA. Also this kit appears to have shipped from Midway, where my last carbine kit was actually drop shipped from Del-Ton. Just some observations. Other than that I looks about the same. |
|
Both my kits arrived today in great shape.
I noticed the mid-length kit has a SA bolt carrier, while the carbine has a FA bolt carrier. Would there be any special reason for this? Or are they just using what they can get? My Neighbor is also interested in one if I don't keep both kits. Is there any reason to favor the middy over the carbine or vice versa? |

I noticed this too (see my above post). There are some other subtle differences (different hand-guard retaining cap (triangular vs. round)) too but all in all they are the same quality as the carbine. Middy vs Carbine is a long standing debate. If you want classic carbine looks, and a small weight savings, keep the carbine. If you want the ability to have longer hand-guards and thus more rail space, as well as an arguably more reliable gas system, go with the middy. Obviously just my two cents, but I've owned plenty of different rifles, and all I have kept are they middys. |

Anything else (buffer?) that needs to move with it? Edit: Ok, the buffers are the same, H marked. Should I keep the bolt with the rifle kit it came in, or just switch the entire BCG? |

Middy and Carb kit with 1/9 twist barrels and NO chrome-lining. According to the Del-Ton industry person on this site, they shipped a large assortment of kits and uppers recently to Midway. This was confirmed when several back-orders went from being predicted to ship in November, to being shipped now. |

If you're going to keep one, and sell the otherkit, then you can switch the BCGs if you want. You can put the FA into the one you're going to keep. Most people find the FA BCG to be heavier, thus a little tougher, and they can offer better cycling reliability, especially at higher rates of fire. They are both great working BCGs though, and either will give you thousands, if not tens of thousands of rounds of service life through these rifles. |

just be glad delton isn't putting the 8620 bolts in these I wouldn't use them if they did. Del-Ton knows better than that (I hope). Of course, unless you want to destroy the bolt, there is no real way to test it. I suspect that 6 months from now, we will be seeing lots of bolts shredding themselves from people who got hosed by someone. This might even be true with the manuf. like Del-Ton, who are sourcing their BCGs from several sources ATM to meet demand.... |

Well got my mid kit built using a spike's lower. Everything went together great took to range last weekend. used a vortex strikefire off another AR 90 rounds all within the 8 ring. Definitely would recommend a delton kit.

Delton please read and reply!.......Delton when do you expect to make the next shipment? I believe I am close to the top of the list for a middy kit. I would like to get my kit soon, I am moving and changing the shipping address last minute might be a pain on the backorder.
