I was watching a Russian military video where they were saying that modern tanks used in the US military can be easily disabled by a simple Russian RPG-7. The guy was bragging about the half century old $90 weapon that can easily penetrate thick armor of multi-million dollar Abrams tank. It this true or is it the usual propaganda, so common in Russia these days?
Of course the comments section was full of Russian shills, a.k.a - dummy "patriots" who claimed that the latest modern Russian tank is far superior to the US counterparts. They claimed the Russian tank has active armor plates that make it nearly impenetrable. Of course, the dummies think that Russian army can destroy US military and it's allies in less than a week. LOL.

Forgot to add: Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for your service to this country!

RPG might blow a track off, and might be able to penetrate the top of a turret.

NFW its defeating the frontal armor on an MBT.

No, they were talking about the front armor, where it's the thickest.

That's why the front three armor panels are/were a Special Access Program, because they are aluminum foil.
Sure, sure it is, LOL.

Just like that spiraling smoke going down range indicates accuracy with RPG7

Regular-ass RPG7's don't normally kill an Abrams. Actually they don't do too hot against a Brad either.

Even Bradleys have reactive armor chicklets that the Russians think they somehow have a monopoly on.

Abrams and Bradleys straight up ass-raped Russian-made T-72's and T-80's in Iraq in '03

US makes expensive shit that kicks ass. Russians make cheap things that focus on quantity.

Heres food for thought, I knew a guy who was an Abrams crewman in Desert Storm.  They took a hit and thought the end was nigh.  The offending tank was soon dispatched.  The crew realized the tank was shaken but not stirred and eveything seemed fine.  After the battle they went to look over the tank and saw the round sticking out of the frontal armor.  That said if a round from a T-72 cant crack nearly two feet of frontal armor, what in the fuck would an RPG-7 do to it?

They have no idea what they are talking about. Abrams frontal Armor isn't going to be defeated by an RPG. Not even a question.

It's questionable if an Abrams main gun could kill another Abrams with a frontal hit.

RPG-7 - Not so much, maybe a blown track or some external damage (maybe a 1 in 10000 chance of something more serious - there's always a 'Golden Bullet' somewhere waiting for you).   It's RPG-29's (Vampir) that everyone needs to worry about.

There was an incident during the initial invasion of Iraq in '03 where an Abrams was disabled and had to be abandoned so the unit could continue its advance. The crew was uninjured and evacuated to other vehicles. The other tanks in the platoon apparently fired several rounds into the disabled Abrams in an attempt to destroy it so the sensitive parts couldn't be exploited. They weren't able to cause sufficient damage to it, so they had to call in an airstrike and use a 500 lb GBU to finish the job.

There are some vulnerable areas on the Abrams, but they're definitely not on the front of the tank. Even when they were seriously damaged, they almost always protected our crew members, which is what really matters. We had an IED blow off the entire track on one side, and the crew got their bells rung, but they were fine otherwise.
