The Army will love you.

One of the first things you will learn will be "Don't even try to think, just do what you are told."

Follow that principle until you get a little bit of rank, then you will be getting paid to think.

If people like you they may try to help you, but never lose sight of the fact that your ass is the Army's to do with as it sees fit until the end of your enlistment.

Thank for helping me out here.

Huh...just out of my BCT platoon we lost almost triple that(2003). Lots of chickenshits, pussies, and little children.

Hrm, my platoon definitely only lost 2. One was the guy that got recycled because of his attitude and the other was either a hairline or stress fracture in his femur. He was going to be down long enough that they sent him home to recover, he wanted to stay and push through it.

I knew of a few people in the other platoons that should have probably been sent packing, but I think the Army just wanted warm bodies at that point (2006).

Remember to keep your mouth shut and your eyes open. Be at the right place at the right time and in the right uniform and you will be fine. Remember it's only temporary. I hear things are much easier these days anyways.

They will PT the snot out of you, if you are even remotely close to passing now you will have no issues. Seriously, don't sweat it. Being away from family and barely getting any phone calls is the hardest part. Just get to be good friends with your squad and you'll be fine. Find humor in all the stupid shit drill sergeants make you do, it really is quite ridiculous.

Just keep in mind that at the end you'll be a soldier in the strongest Army the world has ever seen. Lot's of fuck-fuck games, don't let them go to your head.
