So looking for some input on equipment and armor for medics in the warm zone.

What are you using and how does it compare to entry team medics?

Any other information you would like to share is welcomed as well.

Hard plates and helmets. Should be getting escorted to the casualty collection points by LE, who can deal with threats and secure the CCP.

I'll see if I can ask a buddy on the EMS side what they are issues. I'm thinking Lvl 3 ceramic but not sure.

All our entry medics are PD, so they are equipped similar to the rest of the entry team.

When it comes to plate selection does anyone have a recommendation on ceramic versus steel?  I am familiar with the benefits of each but looking for opinions for there use specifically in this environment.

Storage, durability and budget restraints for replacement are all factors that make me think steel is the way to go.

My dept has purchased steel plates and carriers w helmets. All blue. We trained 6 months ago w PD on all hands/both depts mass shooting/casualty scenarios. We still don't have our gear. I guess we're waiting for the lowest bid again...
We went w steel due to ceramics would be destroyed within a day.
