5 years of dedication and hard work from a grotesque weight of 650lbs to 240lbs. Intense weeks of hours working on PT and many ups and downs to get here.

However starting this week I will be starting as a LEO for a 55,000 population city.

Any advice?

Outstanding work on your physical fitness.  Only bit of advice I can give is you have one year to be the cop your department wants you to be then the rest of your career to be the one you want to be. Listen, do what you are told, and don't make the same mistakes repeatedly and you should be fine.

Very true.  Be wary of department politics and don't trust leadership.  It can be the greatest job and the worst.  You never forget the dead children.

Dude, losing 410lbs is nothing short of impressive.  Good job.

My three rules for my officers:
1.  Be safe.
2.  Do your job, and remember why you took it.
3.  Learn, learn, and learn.

First, I had to say that is some funny shit.

Seriously though congrats on the hard work. My son went to the dark side and the one thing I keep hearing is how nearly impossible it is to eat healthy from the seat of a patrol car. The hard work required to get you where you are teaches discipline. You will need it to keep the weight off and stay healthy.

Stay safe.

Maintain a PT regimen and pack your lunch. Long hours sitting in a cruiser can wreck your overall health.

BE A FIREMAN.. IS THE BEST ADVICE ANYONE COULD GIVE YOU.

1. Great job losing the weight!
2. Two things will get you jammed up.  Your dick and booze.
3. Stay safe.  Take the advice from your FTOs and veterans.
4. Best of luck

+1   My brief experience on patrol (as a reserve) has been that police work  is often a very sedentary job.  There are few healthy choices to eat at night if you are placed on night shift.   As a former big guy myself, I feel It will take some discipline on your part to keep 100 pounds from coming back on.
