I accepted a paid on call position on my local fd this evening! Now I just gotta set up my drug screen and get my Dr's signature!



I tried 2 years ago but I failed at my interview part and this time I was in the top 7 of 14 guys.



My dad retired as a captain from the dept three years ago and he's very excited for me and so are many of the other guys on the dept.  I'm proud to carry on the family tradition and to be able to call myself a 3rd generation firefighter once I get my certs. I'm sure grandpa is looking down with a smile on his face right now!



Got any tips for a newb besides shut up and listen?
