Hey guys,
My buddy found a Ansul K_Guard extinguisher at a garage sale for 5$. He brought it over to me to use in the garage. Anyways there is no valve stem to recharge it. Anyone know how to go about recharging it? I figured if it comes down to it I could drill a hole opposite of the pressure gauge and install one. But there has to be a way to recharge without doing that...

They use an adapter.
Except for water cans a lot of the foam/Class K extinguishers have been going away from having a schrader valve. |

In good shape those are $200 all day.
Every year mine get recharged/cerified for like $25 or something. |

I just thought about this. I could add a T behind the gauge and install a valve there. Much easier than drilling.

Well I went out and filled it with water and charged it. I used my air gun and filled it through the hose. Kinda a Pain but its doable.
The hose has a tip that makes the water fan out. It makes a tank last a LONG time. When removed it can shoot a jet of water a good 30'. Only lasts about 20 seconds but its a good stream. Ill fill it back up and throw some soap in with it. |

Getting it recharged with the original wet chemical would be a good idea if you have a deep fryer.
