Are you allowed to use slip-ons? Take a look at blue tongue (Composite) or redback (Steel Toe). I have the Redback "easy escapes" steel toed boots. I love them and everyone who has went on to purchase their own have loved theirs as well. Good luck!

I have found that boots are pretty much an individual thing though, what works for some might not work for you. MPD165 |

Get good boots and good insoles. It does you no good to have good boots with two sheets of paper inside for insoles.
For boots I rec Danner melee's or blackhawk warrior wear. Insoles Spenco or super feet |

Owning quality boots is only part of the equation. Get properly measured or it won't matter. My foot measures a 13 but my actual arch measures for a size 15. I split the difference with a 14. Much more comfortable. I'm a big fan of Danner from previous experiences. The Melee looks to be a very comfortable boot.

I've had Danner Stryker II's for about a year and a half. They have been EXCELLENT. I used to wear the cheaper Magnum (not bad) and Bates (barf), and these blow them away. One thing to note though is that they have soft soles. This is great for traction, especially when wet, but you will wear em out.

I feel like I'm wearing tennis shoes, and coming from a set of Magnums, they are like heaven. I need to get some new insoles for them now, but the boots still look new. |

i wear Danner APB, they are comfy. But i hate the fit of the acadias.
I just got my insoles custom fit to my feet for running shoes, if i had odd ball size feet i would get them for work boots too. Costs about $85, and it actually an interested process. |
