She was a significant character at that time, and is one even now.
Plenty of "brilliant" women characters out there now, but none of them to the same... caliber as hers. |

I thought Scully was a complex and interesting character; just when I thought I had her pegged as a cold Spock-like woman, she showed a good deal of warmth for some poor victim. She had a lot of depth, a lot more IMO than Fox Mulder.
Plus she was hawt. |
