Yesterday I had a single treatment for broken capillaries on my face.  This is the result of years of sun exposure with no sunscreen.  As a child of the 80's there were very few options for people with oily problematic skin, so I never wore sunscreen on my face.  My cheeks look ruddy and I've always just lived with it.

I was treated with a VBeam laser (pulsed dye laser) on my cheeks, around my eyes, and on my chin.  The laser uses a beam of light to on to the skin where it is absorbed by the blood vessels or melanin pigmented areas.  It feels like you're being popped by a rubber band.  No numbing is required pre-treatment.  When the treatment is complete, you look like you've been slapped and your face is flushed and red.  It kind of stings like a light sunburn to the face would.

I woke up this morning and my cheeks are amazingly clear and much less red.  Where I had broken capillaries near my nose, they are gone.  I'm not at all swollen, but my face is tender to the touch.  Some people DO experience post treatment swelling.  I should continue to see redness disappear over the next few days.  The results I'm seeing are PERMANENT results so long as I don't allow my face to get more sun damage by not wearing sunscreen.

Treatments are not covered by insurance in most cases.  WEAR SUNSCREEN, or bake now, pay later.

You referenced "melanin pigmented areas"...would this work for melasma spots?

According to my paperwork...yes.  Let me see if I can scan the documents on it.
It also is used on Port Wine Stains.

There are a few before and after photos in the brochure.
