People tell me I have a lot of cool toys but I don't own one SCAR let alone two.  That 7.62 SCAR has been on my short list of awesome rifles since I first saw one. The tan colored 17's just have that look of a rifle that's going to go through hell and still be ready to shoot.  How heavy is it? That's the one thing (along with price and availability) that's kept me from actively searching one out.

The people we train with bought a couple last year and after shooting them we decided we wanted one. My husband was lucky enough to get his before December so he got a good deal on it. I honestly have only shot his around 100 times total but knew I wanted one of my own. It feels a void for me because I previously didn't own a 308 of my own. I pretty much own every caliber now including some my husband doesn't. Hearing that some of the military groups have switched to them sealed the deal. These guys had a lot of really great things to say about their durability. I didn't want to pay the panic price for it but you never know when something might go down and I won't have the opportunity to get one. The weight is really dependant on what you put on it. It's around 7lbs right now. Crazy light for the way it looks.

Very cool, I've been going back and forth about a .308 caliber rifle.  Initially I wanted an Armalite AR10 T National Match rifle but the price is just way too high.  Then I considered one of the other brands but I wasn't convinced the quality I wanted was there. Now I'm thinking I will go with a S&W M&P10 because the price is decent and the M&P15 is one of the few AR15's that comes close to the quality of my Colt.  In the meantime, I've finally worked the bugs out of my 6.5 Grendel and she is one seriously awesome rifle with the kind of accuracy I've never seen before.  She's going to be my number one baby for long distance fun shooting and deer hunting .

Beaurtiful Stranger, You have the coolest toys. I love the see your posts.

I've been a dyed in wool Semi-Auto gal for a very long time. My Favorites are my CZ SP-01 Shadow and my 1911s. Never really considered a Revolver until I started reloading for my Mom's Revolver. I've always considered Revolvers little old fashioned. For certain applications Revolvers are the right fit. I surprised myself how excited I am about this gun. It might be because I haven't bought myself a new toy in over a year or maybe it's a start of a new collection? Saturday my first shotgun will be arriving I'm just giddy. The firearms drout is over for me.

Thanks Barbie. I'm lucky to have a husband that indulges most of my gun needs. Plus we don't like to share.

I was always a hater of revolvers too. Especially for cc. I still would never use them for cc but I am interested in one for shtf and parts availability. I shot my friends LCR a few months ago and really enjoyed it. So now I'm in the market for a 357 caliber. They make good purse guns. If you needed to shoot through your purse a semi is more likely to jam than a revolver because of obstruction. I hope you get a lot of enjoyment out of yours.

Here's the "original" Vaquero I bought for my bff/sis for her birthday this month. Its a 4.62" barrel, .45LC that's been worked over by the previous owner to make it smooth as butter.  I've never held a single action revolver in my life as nice as this one is...I wanted to keep it for myself soooooo bad lol.  It is a phenomenal gun.  If I ever find another like it locally I will buy it immediately!

My wife decided she likes my Spikes dedicated .22 but it's too heavy.

So I built a light weight .22 for her.

It has a Taccom upper, a magpul ctr stock, and an ALG trigger.

She's very happy with it.

I have to 'fess up, I haven't weighed it.

The components add up to about 4 - 4.5 lbs.

The Taccom upper is a whole 2lbs 8oz.

If you want a lightweight .22 AR that's extremely accurate and reliable there's no better, IMO, than the M&P15-22.  Mines the Talo edition with match barrel but they are all accurate.

Hello Yes, the Sig mosquito is a full size!  I actually purchased a Beretta PX4 sub compact as my SD weapon and it was interesting to transition from the full size to the sub compact!  The Sig mosquito is a great gun that is fun to shoot.  It is picky with the ammo it will shoot though, but it is a great training opportunity for failures.

You mean full size compared to compact or full size compared to physically made smaller? They might of changed something since I sold my mosquito but mine was 10% smaller in scale vs the full size caliber versions like 9mm. The 10% smaller is nice for smaller hands though. Strange as I don't have small or large hands but prefer smaller grips on guns as I feel I can get a better grip on it. I run the small blackstrap on my m&p... It's strange to me but the grip of the mosquito always felt really good.

Don't know if its in stock anywhere but the Winchester black copper stuff ran like clock work in my mosquito. I've since switched to the m&p22 as well just cause its 100% the size of my other m&p's and a better trainer for those.

They are awesome rifles.  Pretty sure the prices have already started dropping. Fingers crossed that they will be back to normal soon. Then jump on it. She has been good to me. Did you have any failure to feed issues with your vtac when you first bought it? I have had some problems with mine related to the coating. They say it gets better with more use.

Not one single problem with the non threaded barrel that came stock. I've run everything from tulammo, factory brass, and reloads. Never had any jams, misfires, or failure to extract. I'm hoping the threaded works the same.

Is that holster a waistband belt holster or some kind of drop holster?  I'm needing a holster for my Beretta 92A1 with its Surefire X400 and everything I've found are drop down styles.
Link Posted: 8/2/2013 1:35:42 AM EDT

It's a drop but only slight drop at 1.5" I think. It will fit a 1.5" belt up to 2". If you want to look it up its the safariland 6365.

I got it for more of a battle belt setup running a few pistol mags and rifle. The vtac along with my ACR is going to be what I want to run for 3 gun, of course I have not done any 3 gun but want to start.

If your looking for a holster that will hold a full size gun with light and be more compact and closer to your body then a custom kydex might be an option. This is the one I made for my glock 17 with light and in winter time my jacket covers it perfect. I can also use whatever belt I want just by changing the clips on the back.
