I've trained over 3,500 students in Mo CCW classes, Over 400 pistol and home firearm safety instructors and several NRA pistol classes as well as Defensive pistol classes....Im not taking sides, but women typically want to DO good and the guys just want to LOOK good.....I have seen several beginner women out shoot experienced men...I'll let you judge who is more intelligent in general..

I dont think women, in general, are much of anything. Smarter, dumber, better shots, etc.

Kind of bugs me, actually, because I am the furthest thing from a naturally good shot. Any level of competence I've reached has been hard work and training. Still think I could win the dual, though.

In my (admittedly limited) experience training women to shoot, I've found that they "pick up" the fundamentals far faster than men do. I've posted this before, in fact I hosted a poll about it: "Are women easier to teach shooting skills to than men?" By about 66%, the response was YES. (Those that responded positively were very positive about the difference.)

In my opinion there are 3 reasons for this:
1. Women on the average (a) have better manual dexterity than men (just sample the average man's cursive compared to that of the average woman's); their hand-to-eye coordination is better.

2. Women have a vastly different mindset when they enter training: they don't have the 'macho' outlook and aren't trying to compete in the same way that men are.

3. Women usually aren't issued cap pistols as youngsters. They aren't handicapped by the "muscle memory" induced by the God-awful trigger of a cap pistol. This is far, far more of a handicap that most men will admit to.

Barbara, as far as your original post is concerned I agree 100%. The WSF was created specifically for women and should be treated at least as respectfully as a woman's lounge (not necessarily a bathroom) would be.
