It has been brought to my attention that the State of Michigan requires a raffle license that we do not currently have.

We are trying to resolve this. My wife has contacted the head of her RFL, as she may possibly already have the license, and this raffle could fall under that.

At this time, I'm asking that everyone refrain from sending any more donations until we can get this resolved.

In the meantime, anyone that has already donated and would like a refund, just send me an IM or email.

All funds that we have received so far have been thru paypal gift option. Let me know in the IM or email how much you were charged by paypal, and your money will be refunded.

This raffle is to benefit the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. All proceeds to benefit RFL, and will be donated in the name of my wife's relay team, Blooming for a Cure.


A little back story: Not many here would know about this, because I haven't posted much about it. Last June, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was caught very early by her annual mammogram.

Her doctor is a stickler for these, and would pester her about the exam every year until she did it. We found out the day she was diagnosed that his wife also had b/c.

In July, she initially had a lumpectomy. About a week after the surgery, we got a call from her oncologist, they did not get it all. This left her/us with a decision to make. Have another lumpectomy, and hope for the best, or have a mastectomy.

She elected for the mastectomy, and had that on July 30th. Since then, she has had 2 surgeries for reconstruction, and has come thru it all like a trooper!! She has 1 very minor procedure left to go, and will be taking Tamoxifin (sp) for 5 years.

As of now, she is cancer free!!


And now, on to the good stuff!!

Up for raffle is a NIB Glock 19, and all that comes with it. It will ship with either the standard capacity magazines, or the 10 rd version, depending on the winners location.

Please Note: Regardless of the winners location, the transfer will be done thru an FFL.

Winner must comply with all applicable laws, state, local, and federal.

Tickets are $10 each, or 6 for $50.

]I would like to thank my husband for doing this for my team. This is my first time corresponding on this site, I was always intimidated by it. But have found I could use a few good advisors here. For example our 20th anniversary is coming in a few weeks and could have used some advise on a gift for him. He does all the gun buying in the house I just pick them out for the looks. That's great! I wish I could still buy tickets to help out. Just so you know, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer 20 years ago. She had a partial mastectomy and has been cancer-free ever since. So hang in there!

I hope this gets resolved soon. Who reads state raffle laws?

Its a big deal here and the law greatly contributed to the end of Michigans chance to hunt doves. The folks running the group supporting it got caught without a license. I'm in this weekend, chance to win or not. Its a good cause.
