Last week: To the Last Salute - written by a WW I Austrian u-boat commander; Fips, about a WW II German U-boat commander. Now I'm reading about a US sub's rescue of Americans trapped in the Philippines during WW II.

Just picked up Adopted son: Washington, Lafayette and the friendship that saved the revolution.
Of course with finals coming up, it will be a few weeks before I get to read it. Looking forward to this book, I love these two guys! |

Just finished The Rescue about the USS Carvalla's rescue of 40 Americans from the Negros Island in the Philippines. Now reading Destroyer! About the Kreigsmarine's destroyer and torpedo boat force.

Just finished Candice deLong's book, Special Agent. It was about her twenty years' experience in the FBI. Now I am reading Hashimoto's Sunk. He was a submarine commander for the IJN during WW II and one of its few survivors.

Fug, fug, fuggitty fug it! He is sent as a spy disguised as a political prisoner to Buchenwald by Heydrich to ferret out a spy hiding there. He witnessed the Inhumane treatment of Eickert's SS camp goons towards the prisoners. He is even flogged for gicing water to a Jewish worker he supervised. |

If You Survive. WW II infantry officer's experience in the European Theater. Riveting book that I picked up used but in new condition. It was a quick two day read.
