Found this guy while cleaning out some stuff around the house. Not sure if this is the correct sub-forum
but, I sure didn't want to put it in general discussion.. I guess I'm mainly curious what it is and if anyone
could pinpoint a value, that would just be a bonus.

I love large cents. I have several but they've gotten expensive in the last few years. And I agree with the above $25-$30 is about right. It looks like a "coronet" with the large 8 and stars so it's relatively common.

Hell, it says right on it!



Thinking about the value of that coin - even outside of the metal value, really makes the whole "why do we still have a penny" question poignant.

We could shift to just one decimal, but then we'd have to get rid of the quarter and nickel as well.

Rounding up to the nearest 5 cents makes people fell cheated.
