What confederate calvary units used the Pumpkintown ferry during the civil war?

Interesting, kind of off the wall question.
First, I think you meant cavalry, not calvary.
Next, unless someone is an expert on that particular ferry, I doubt you'll get an answer here.
So, here are some steps you could do to research that topic:
Locate the Pumpkintown Ferry on a period map. Find out if there was a district home guard unit that could have been stationed in the area. Research the records of this unit to try and find their movements-- same for nearby home guard units.
Find out what engagements took place in the area, and when these occured. Find out which units fought in these battles. For some battles, there will be maps you can find that show the locations of various units.
Try and locate the business records for the ferry owners- or perhaps they left diaries or letters to friends telling of their passengers. Research the local historical societies for information as well from the neighbors.
Find out the name of the road it was associated with on the period map. Was it a major highway, or a sparsely travelled back road? This may limit your search.
Let's say for example, that the ferry was over the Fivefivesix River, on the Arfcom Turnpike from Dogetown to Penguinville. You could research Confederate movement orders and unit records to see what units might have been ordered to move from Penguinville to Dogetown, or vice versa. Start the search with those units known to have participated in the local area engagements you looked up earlier.
Search for any survivng letters from ex-Confederate soldiers that might detail their travels in that region.
Good luck in your quest.
