THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
My parents recently purchased a house on Roanoke Island, NC - the island has lots of history, and quite a few Civil War battles were fought there. Well the house they bought is at the far northern tip of the island and I guess the previous owner found a large eagle figure on the property one day (along with several Civil War era bullets etc)

Anyways thought I would post a few pictures, its in amazingly good shape for being ~150 years old!

Anyone know if this is something the Union or Confederate forces would have had?

At first glance, it looks Napoleonic.

I think it was Ambrose Burnside whose men landed in NC.
