Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - FFL Question for the Experts

I have a military family member who has been transferred to HI. He left a handgun with me for safekeeping because they are not sure where they will have to stay until they are assigned permanent quarters. Once he settles in can I ship the firearm directly to him or will it have to go through an FFL?

Must ship to an FFL for transfer.  Also have him contact a local FFL first and see what is required to have a handgun in HI, IIRC their gun laws are a PITA.
