With the current threats from ISIS (ISIS claims to have soldiers in 16 states) and with ISIS openly declaring war on the US what rights do US citizens have to defend ourselves against ISIS members here in the U.S.?

Would I have to observe the same rules regarding citizens arrest and defending myself against someone who claims to be an ISIS operative as any other person?

The laws of self defense are not any different.

Means, opportunity, intent and every bullet has a lawyer assigned to it.

Your mileage will vary by state.

So important you had to say it twice.

ISIS asshole or not, you still have the inherent right to self-defense.  No different than if it some thug trying to harm you and/or take your property.

Shooting to defend property is NOT allowed in many places.

I understand, I should have been more descriptive.  I meant if taking it by force.

You still need at least reasonable fear of death or grave bodily injury in many places.
Shooting a purse snatcher would NOT be a good idea.
