Divorce / Taxes - AR15.COM

Middle of a divorce, house, kids, spousal support (huge), spouse at 0 income.
What would be the best way to file as I know the spousal support is taxable to the other party if filing separate, however there is so much unknown that something could come back to bite me.

If the divorce is final before the end of the year, you will file single, or head of household if you have dependent children in the house.

I don't think you can deduct alimony if your filing status is married (whether joint or separate).

You status for the whole year is at the end of the day on December 31 at midnight.
