The Colt thread got me wondering what the hive mind thinks about this.

List your top 5 AR15 manufacturers in order.

You can list more than 5 if you wish.

As predicted, there is no huge difference in quality between most manufacturers.  Of course there is (and will be shortly demostrated) more than enough kool-aid to go around, for most brands.

I was happy with my Bushmaster but sold it as it wasn't a "real" flat-top; the rail was raised.

I am happy with my S&W.

There isn't any major brand that I would reject out of hand for quality issues.  There may be some 'minor' brands that I would avoid out of ignorance of their quality (or lack thereof), but that's it.

I only have experience with Bushmaster, and it hasn't failed me once

That being said from all the talk, pricing, etc

Colt, Larue, LMT are all up their in the top tier.

Vulcan - Used by Special Olympic Forces
Olympic - same Olympics as above but not officially issued
Mattel - My Grand Father was issued an M16 when he fought at the Alamo and it said Mattel on it. We lost because it jammed so much.
Century - Same quality as their fine Cetme rifles.
Colt - They make parts for Century

That can't be true.  We all know that Colt doesn't make any parts.  They get everything from CMT.
