Been years since I tried rye,

Crown Royal seems to be pretty good, although not as smooth as Crested Ten.

I like Crown a lot.. enough so the wifey took to finding uses for the cloth bags...
it's a 9' square quilt for my waterbed.. pretty cool valentines gift!

CR is pretty good IMO, but sooo 80s.

You know where bourbon should be enjoyed?  Out in the woods.  Especially in some hardwoods.   The smell of the woods really brings out a nice flavor in bourbon.  Makes sense, since that was where it was born.

I generally prefer a good Canuck whiskey over most Kentucky whiskey. Royal Crown is OK. You could certainly do better but you could do far worse.

I do believe you have  something to say there.
next time I get a jug of bourbon, I'll take it to the woods.

Hope you enjoy it.  I found that out when I snuck out into the woods deer hunting one time with a little half pint of Beam.  I was blown away by how good it tasted out there straight out of the bottle.

Rye makes me go  a little "native" so gotta stay away.
Just got "laid off"-don't fit into TLM's future plans, so my
daughter picked me up a bottle (I asked for dark rum) of
Newfie Screech. Haven't had a drink in so long, will probably
only make it through three or four shots!! lol ;)

So I will have one, and salute to all the rest of you unemployed folks!

Later.....

I hope.

FTW!  LOVE my Crown on the rocks.  Standard issue or Special Reserve are my go-to's.

I also have a bottle each of Cask 16 (Crown finished by curing in Cognac barrels) and Crown XR (an expensive, limited-run, numbered bottle Crown made from the last batch of whiskey from the Waterloo distillery), but these 2 are only broken out for special occasions.

Gotta love Crown Royal

Sell it on ebay. Claim that it is a collectable and any alcohol contained is incidental.

I drank a 1956 bottle a couple of years ago. Couldn't tell any difference. But you shouldn't, it doesn't age in the bottle.

Try Wiser's DeLuxe, you will thank me.

Yeah, I misread the title too.

What would be better*, Crown Royal and Royal Crown over ice or

Crown Royal  and a Moon Pie.

*or "worse", if you prefer.

Looks like piccolo and I will be finding out if that's true or not here soon.

If the bottle is airtight, why would it degrade?

I came into possession of two bottles of  circa 1963 bourbon. Bottled in bond.

They had been at room temp in a closet.

I called a bourbon outfit and asked them if they were safe to drink.

"Yep", if still sealed. I drank one. This was 5 years or so ago and I'm not blind.

Still have the other one. "Old 1887" or something like that. It was OK, not great, but I don't know how good it was to begin with.

Crown Royal and Canadian Club, most Canadian whiskeys actually, are a too sweet for me.

I usually go with Alberta Premium straight up. Despite the oddball name and cheap price, it's actually pretty good all things considered.
