USS Nimitz, 1985, MedCruise. That year we sat on station for 73 days after the TWA hijacking. There was a spy on our boat who was arrested when we pulled into port in Haifa. This was just prior to the TWA incident. Later, we crossed over and I became a shellback.

My Son was on the Vinson for the World Cruise just before it went in to be refitted and he had E-mailed his Mom. So I told her to ask him if he was a Shellback yet and Mom writes to him and asked if he was a Sea Turtle yet.

Aww, the head shaving and water coffin, what fun, fun, fun times.

The vomit-filled garbage chute was pretty sweet.
We went over the line later on the Cape Cod, and it was so toned down that it there was no point. I think they only allowed people to throw water on the wogs. I said fuck it and sat it out. |

RV Thomas Washington in '91.
Probably had more fun than some of you. Two of the research team were girls, one a cute Russian, the other Scottish. |
|
On the USS DePuke (LPD 08) somewhere between Singapore and Indonesia back in 1998 or 1999 back as part of the 31st MEU.
Interesting time that was. |

The recent ones are PC....... The mermaids aren't showing anything... |

1981 USS Marvin Shields, FF1066. Then half a dozen or more times on a 47 ft trimaran sailing the South Pacific 1994-1996. Argh.. a pirate I be and a charter member of the Rastafarian Navy Yacht Club.

Quoted: USS SAN JOSE AFS 7 1971 Wow, she must have been almost new. Are you a plank owner? She's the last AFS left. Concord got decommed on the 19th. |
|
Quoted: USS Cochrane DDG-21 SouthPac '79 Hey, another DDG dude!... I was on DDG-22. Ironically, both ships were being towed together from PH to Brownsville for scrapping. ex-Stoddert DDG-22 sunk enroute (scuttled by tug crew) and now rests in Davy Jones locker. Apparently Cochrane made it all the way to TX and was chopped up.

I almost got away with just knocking the cherry out with my nose.
