It is the largest bill that is still printed. In fact, in Las Vegas, if you aren't using hundreds it isn't even considered money. [:)] |

Just before the US started printing the new $100 bills, I read an article that said the government estimated that one-third of all US $100 bills were in the former Soviet Union.

The bills are still legal tender, but are taken out of circulation should they ever end up at a bank. They're worth more as collectors items anyways. I believe the highest denomination bill every printed by the US government was the $10,000 bill. I wouldn't mind having a pocket full of those things [:)] |

500.00, 1,000.00, 5,000.00, and 10,000.00 bills last printed in 1946.
100,000.00 printed in 1934 and 1935 only, not issued to the general public. "I'd like to pay for lunch but the smallest I have is $100,000, I don't think they'll have change......."[:)] |

My thoughts?
Top photo, guy in background; Put a bill in your hand and look at the length/width relative to your hand and compare. It's probably another currency. Where the guy has the handful-think about what goes on there. Drug and weapon trafficking, black markets, not to mention that the things these guys... oh nevermind. I just realized they don't have the IRS. |

Is it possible that these are the victims of some of the "US Marine gun buy back programs"? I doubt they would be paying them in US currency, but stranger things have happened. What was it, $30,000 for an RPG? You never know.

I don't think the Marines have gun buy back programs. I believe they just kill you and then let the army drive a tank over your weapons. It's cheaper that way [:)]

Well, I notice the [:)] Ponyboy, but you did hear about that right? The Marines were ordered to buy back any rifles or RPG's they saw civilian's carrying. IIRC, the price for an RPG was $30,000. I think I'd offer them a nice, new, shiny, US Government issue MRE instead. They all look like they haven't eaten for weeks. Hell, maybe even some soap and skin cream.

I MUST GET ONE!!!! And I'm sure as hell not paying $1,999 from those knife jerks on TV either. The government printed the $100,000 bill. But it was only used internally between reserves so it wasn't released to the general public. I bet there are a few out there though. Whoever has it better keep it to themselves. Just like those illegal US coins. |

Actually, there was a One Trillion dollar bill printed that was supposed to help rebuild Europe after WWII but Mr. Burns stole it. Recently, Federal Agents almost recovered the bill, but failed. To make a long story short, the bill ended up in the hands of Fidel Castro.

When AK's go for about $50 on the international black market an RPG couldn't cost more than a few hundred. If you were paying $30,000 for an RPG what is to keep the guy that just got paid from running down to the local gun runner and buying 50 more to turn around and sell to the stupid American infidel dogs? If the UN runs around disarming by force, why don't we do it that way? |
