I'm leaning real heavy towards buying this for my AR.  I know there have been posts about optics and even this one but just wanted to ask one last time before I order this thing.

Is the 5x magnification enough?  Also I will be buying it here unless someone knows of a place that is cheaper http://www.aimdiscount.com/AMT5X33L.html and are the rings shown at the bottom of this page made specifically for this scope or will any set of 30mm rings work?  TIA

I'm selling one with rings (factory supplied) and an ARMS quick detach mount if you want that as well. it goes beautifully on my flattop.

I'll sell ya mine for $160. Its newer than NIB. WITH flip up lens caps.

For another $120, I'll sell ya the ARMS QD mount.

5x is perfect, IMO. Allows a good field of view, with sufficient magnification.

lemme know.

It is a really good scope for the money, but on a Shorty you might wish it was just a bit smaller.

garandman, if you're selling you must not like it for some reason.  So whats up?  Also, these come with a two year factory warranty so I'd be a little leary of buying from an individual because I probably would loose that warranty, right?

I do have a shorty and the 10" 5x33L is 3" shorter than the 3x9 CDNN packaged with the gun.

The ATN is an excellent scope for the money, but as stated, is is a little heavy and especially for a shorty.  I do not think that you will beat aimdiscount on the price either.   The magnification is is good for general use.  I think that you would be pleased with one.

here's a pic of one on a shorty ak.i like the scope but it doesn't feel right to me as a carry handle mount.it would be much more at home on a flattop.just my $0.02.mmk

www.sableco.com is supposed to be selling these NIB for $175 shipped, fixing to order one myself.  Looked at one at a gunshow last weekend the things are built like a tank.
