"Although rooted in history, the tale has an edge to it that cuts a direct path into the present."

What ever happened to factual reporting? Why dress it up with this kind of "it was a dark stormy night" type of embelishment? Probubly because there is no substance to the article.

This will, of course, be buried as is normal when a whiff of the rampant corruption caused by the "drug war" gets out.  It is my opinion that a very large percentage of cops, federal agents, judges, POLITICANS and others are "on the take" from the drug dealers.  The only way to clean it up is to legalize the stuff.  Unlikely, however, due to all the money being slipped under the table.  It is sad that the worst damage from drugs is not the human cost of users but the crimes they must commit to feed the addiction and the pervasive corruption supported by the huge profits. In addition, the greatest attacks on our freedom stem from the failed "drug war" just as from the misguided things done to attack terror.
