Im so sick and tired of this heavy barrel thing. Why the hell can't anyone make an early A1 profile chrome lined barrel in 1x7 or 1x9 twist. And I dont want to hear the crap about buying a heavy and having it turned down. I want the exact exterior dimensions as the original, to include the front sight base. Sound Off Guys!!!

You might want to talk with Derek Huffman of AZE Arms   http://www.azexarms.com
I just bought this little beauty from him.  It's a post ban SP1 clone Colt with a BATF Approved Wilson Combat brake.  :)

Since you asked.
The reason the barrels have gotten heavier is not so much an accuracy issue as one of overheating.
I used a 16A2 type for real and it had zero problems while I had it.
I understand your thought process though as I am fond of originally configured weapons.

I too would like a light barrel. The orginal idea of the AR was to be a light weight weapon. But now it is a brick.

I do understand that the heavy barrel was added for duribility and accuracy. But there has to be someone out there who has an alloy out there that might work?

Anyone?

Anyone?
