Ok, this came out of a conversation with Arock, so he gets dibs on grandfathering the idea (hehehe, no pun intended of course...) Here is the challenge, the AR15.com theme song. It has to have original lyrics contributed by members, about members, weapons, gags, history, etc of ar15.com Original music track mixed by a member Should have a rousing chorus that is 'bar room friendly.' (ie. Tipsy members would enjoy belting it out at parties) Must be rock and roll that we can ALL enjoy (think aerosmith, ZZ top, AR15 type music) When Arock and I were talking about the idea, we figured the entire thing, from concept to completeion, based upon the raw TALENT of the membership would take about a week, maybe two weeks tops. Are you up for it? TheRedGoat

So, what you want is... 1. Original AR15.COM lyrics 2. Original score 3. Rock and roll rhythm 4. Irish/Russian/German style bar room singing heh ... This reminds me of a Robocop movie scene, where a room full of city politicians give Robocop like 100 directives that are at odds with each other. I think you should combine #3 and #4 into "Southern Fried Rock" (Devil Goes Down to Georgia style). Does anyone here play the fiddle?

Remember in "The Jerk" when he hears Lawrence Welk type music for the first time and he gets its rhythm? I think that scene was directed to me. How about an Ar15.com theme polka? I know a good tuba player.

Original score? Hell, if I could come up with an original score, I'd be sending it off to Britney to sing! I'd buy the beer at our next meeting with the royalties. Why not just pirate a song that's already composed, adding your own AR-friendly lyrics? It worked for Benny Hill! It worked for The Two Ronnies! It worked for Monty Python, etc. Oh, I'm a lumberjack, and I'm okay, I sleep all night and I work all day. CHORUS: He's a lumberjack, and he's okay, He sleeps all night and he works all day. I cut down trees, I eat my lunch, I go to the lava-try. On Wednesdays I go shoppin' And have buttered scones for tea. Mounties: He cuts down trees, he eats his lunch, He goes to the lava-try. On Wednesdays 'e goes shoppin' And has buttered scones for tea. CHORUS I cut down trees, I skip and jump, I like to press wild flowers. I put on women's clothing, And hang around in bars. Mounties: He cuts down trees, he skips and jumps, He likes to press wild flowers. He puts on women's clothing And hangs around.... In bars??????? CHORUS I chop down trees, I wear high heels, Suspendies and a bra. I wish I'd been a girlie Just like my dear papa. Mounties: He cuts down trees, he wears high heels Suspendies?? and a .... a Bra???? (spoken, raggedly) What's this? Wants to be a *girlie*? Oh, My! And I thought you were so rugged! Poofter! CHORUS All: He's a lumberjack, and he's okaaaaaaayyy..... I have the rhythm! The Pennsylvania Polka : I keep hearing it from the movie "Groundhog Day" with Bill Murray. It's the song the outside band is always playing.

Not original music, but the words I just thought up. AR 15 dot Com (to the marine corp tune): On a r fifteen dot com there are many crazy folks We swap some funny sto-ries and all the dirty jokes We talk on rights and on our freedom and about who we should bomb, There's a lot of fun to have here on our favorite dot com. Goat Boy Don and all the other mods try to keep us all in line They are here to make sure that we don't have much to good a time cuz the net is full of losers who would take our fun away We should just go tar and feather them Before the end of today. If there's rifle information that you are looking for ar fifteen has it all right here tactics magazines and more. You can read up on your ammo and the best barrel to shoot but don't you dare post any porn here or the mods will give you the boot.

OK here’s the lyrics that cry out ar15.com to me. It’s like 3am I’m up alone with you guys the glass is almost empty and James McMurtry is singing low in the background… “Look across the table with those guilty eyes, So many mornin’s now I shouldn’t be surprised. When you lash out at me and you scream out in the night, What could you have done to get in such an awful fright? Is it all that bad that you think I shouldn’t see, Well who you gonna talk to if you can’t tell me? Where’d you hide the body? Where’d you stash the loot? Keep your hands where I can see them So I don’t have to shoot. There’s a smokin’ AR15 at your side But you swear it’s not the one. Where’d you hide the body? Where’d you get the gun? When cornered you complain about the state of your career. And you look intently straight ahead pretendin’ I’m not here. Then you look me in the eye and say it’s not about us. And you tell me I’m so silly to be makin’ such a fuss. So everything’s OK except you’re nervous as a cat. What’s it say about me that you’d think I’d fall for that? Where’d you hide the body? Where’d you stash the loot? Just keep your hands where I can see ‘em And maybe I won’t shoot. There’s a smokin’ AR15 at your side And you swear it’s not the one. Where’d you hide the body? Where’d you get the gun? Where’d you hide the body? Where’d you ditch the gun? Keep your hands where I can see ‘em. Make no attempt to run. You used to always throw me off your trail But I guess those days are through. Where’d you hide the body? What’s consumin’ you?”
