There's a post here about survival motorcycles where the guy's discuss some beautiful big bikes.  Here's another scenario.  The day 9/11, it was damn near impossible to get out of the city (Chicago).  Took a few hours at midday.  One friend of mine bought a dirt bike just to give him a mobile way to get out of an urban environment till he can get to the heavy equipment 20 miles out of town.  You can ride a dirt bike down sidewalks, up/down stairs, just about anywhere.  He now keeps the bike parked sideways at the front of his underground lot just in case.  Worth a thought if your in the center of an urban area.

True, true.  Unfortunately, it will also make you more visible and a target for the less-prepared.

How do keep a low profile without making it obvious to others you're packing food, water, and weapons?
