Heard on the news a few days ago that the feds are FINALLY starting to try to stockpile KIO3/KI - a compound that can protect against the effects of exposure to radioactive particulate.  Well I'll be damned - took 'em long enough.  From what I heard, they have orders in with manufacturers for 10,000,000 doses.  Now let's see - the minimum number of doses recommended for ANY exposure is 10.  So - IF ALL the people exposed can be moved IMMEDIATELY to a "clean" area, then the US Gov will have enough on hand to proect a million people.  Awesome!!  Unless you happen to live in an area with more than a million human inhabitants..... or you don't live near the stockpile area.....

I still have about 90 bottles (200 adult doses per) of KIO3 - potassium iodate.  Selling them for $14 per + actual shipping - much cheaper than you can purchase anywhere else unless you buy a case of the stuff like I did.  They cost me $12 per - especially after the cc interest, I'm not getting rich here.  Email if interested.  I've traded with many folks on this board, FYI.
