If she continues to watch Rosie after that taunt her and throw things at her while she watches the show, you could also try hiding the remote before the show airs or worst case scenario fling poo on the screen and at your Mom while the show is on. There is no problem with your mother, if she can differentiate between "Rosie the entertainer" and "Rosie the activist".
Just because she may be enticing as an entertainer (to some, but not to me), does not mean that her political views are due any more weight than anyone else. She is a member of that long list of entertainers that believe that their viewpoint is entitles to special consideration, and use their celebrity as a bully pulpit to enlist foot soldiers in their army. A pleasant person who is full of crap is still full of crap... |

Ask her why she likes a lesbian so much?
Say, "Mom, you're religious and you support a nasty dyke who is surrounding innocent children with her perverted lifestyle...Mom, you still like guys right?" Then ask her why Rosie pretends to like guys like Tom Cruise (well, boys like Cruise) when she's a carpet muching harlot. Plus a hypocrite (her kids need armed guards, your kids don't). Of course, you can always threaten her with being sent to the home since Alzheimers seems to be showing up in her behaviour. |
